My DS is a solid 4X (meaning, it's evenly distributed on him), and he rode Kali with no problems after they installed the new seatbelts.
Also, they talked about this in the disabilities forum, and a gentleman who actually works at Kali said that they very rarely have had to turn riders away due to size, and when they do, it is done very respectfully and discretely.

I'm a 2X/3X with most of my weight in the stomach and butt. I fit everything. Just remember to pull the belts up all the way before you sit to get the maximum length. And on drop bars think of pushing the air up to the top of you lungs, contract your diaphram so that you get your back straight and use your core to pull your stomache in so that you have a better fit. Once you are going you're going to be pushed back by force so tighting up before hand gives you the best fit. If you have your core loose your stomache will expand past your chest and make it harder to get the bar down. At least that's always worked better for me.
I do think the hardest was the 'barrel' rides that you have to sink into. Mostly not for fit but because to get out you have to be able to use your arms to lift up to get you legs under you to exit. |

There has been a change to the seat belts on Kali - now each seat has its own seatbelt (rather than one for the pair). Apparently, it has meant that more people (i.e. smaller people) are being turned away.

I rode in Oct 11 and I fit. It was one of the tighter rides as far as the width of the seat but I got the seat belt buckled. I carry weight in my lower half. About a 20/22

Airplanes
Does anyone know at what size you typically need an extender on the airplane? We just booked our flights for September and I am terrified! First I hate flying and second I am so worried I won't fit! I am a 5'7, 22/24. I'm down over 30lbs from the beginning of the year and hoping to hit the 50lb mark by our Sept. trip but I will still probably be a 22/24 even then.
About Disney's clothes...I have quite a few 3X shirts that I bought from Disney. I have had the best luck finding them in the resort gift shops (POFQ, PORS, Coronado Springs, Beach & Yacht Club) and have had a little luck at the store in DTD. On our April trip, I found a 3X I loved at PORS and tried it on and it was too big! I was only down around 15lbs at that time but the 2X was a little snug (I bought it anyways). I still have the tags on it as it fits better and better each week so it is my motivation for our Sept. trip because I am saving it to wear then. Hopefully I can find some more 2X shirts while we are there to replace my old 3X shirts.

DH is a 3-4X, 5'9 290, mostly upper body/belly fat. He's gotten the extender the last few trips - AirTran, JetBlue, SW - and they fit comfortably. His main problem is with the tray table, especially if the seat in front reclines. |

I saw several folks on Airtran bigger than you and they were fine. I am an 18/20 and had lots of extra belt left. You should be fine. I assume you fly out of DAY too! PS I love the cats too! I am right across the river from you in Ft. Wright KY!

a couple months ago I wrote a post inquiring about something and nobody mentioned anything about it so I dont know if people just didnt see it or they werent interested so I am going to try once more...
Ive been coming to this thread for a little under a year now and Ive loved it...you guys have made me feel so thankful because I had no idea whether i was going to fit in the airplane seat on SW or not or how things were going ot be on the rides so I want to thank all of you for your support and understanding..I think this is a great thread for just that...Ive noticed throughout my time on here that there are A LOT of people that wear 2X, 3X and some even 4X and one day someone asked a question about clothing and we all got on conversations about Lane Bryant and how expensive they were and it really got me thinking.... a year ago I started a diet and for the first time in 20+ years I found something that works for me...to date I have lost 127 lbs...I am 5 ft even and weighed 353lbs and wore size 4x and some 3x if they ran big...now I am 226lbs and wear some 18/20, XL and such depending on who makes it...I have bought almost all my clothes from Lane Bryant or their sister company Roamans and I have shorts, pants, dresses, sleeveless, short sleeve, long sleeve shirts, sweaters and almost brand stinking new coat and I cant wear any of them anymore...Im really not wanting to buy all brand new clothes because I am still losing weight and I want to find things that are cheap as I probably wont be in them for very long but I also dont have money to constantly be buying clothes either....I am really interested in seeing if any of you would be interested in us maybe starting some kind of system on here where we could sell/buy clothes from each other reasonably priced, post pics of the items and if not on here maybe on FB??? It would be a members only group we could send the money plus shipping through paypal??? What do you guys think? If so we would be looking for clothes from XL on up that are in good condition...and you would just post the item/size/price and pics and if anyone is interested they respond however, you choose...please let me know if anyone is interested in something like this...thanks
