Ripped Off By Disney Cruise Line?

There 's been a lot of confusion around trips booked on this cruise with DVC points. I think the whole notion of converting the points to a cash refund was new to a lot of people at DCL and maybe at DVC too!

I, too got the run-around when I tried to get a breakdown of what my credit actually represented. DCL wouldn't deal with me because DVC was, in effect my "agent", DVC played dumb and said that DCL made all the calculations, etc. It took me a while to get a straight answer. I wanted to know because 3 of us were on points and 1 ( a non family member) had paid cash. They gave me one credit and I needed to know what amount of the credit belonged to the person who paid cash.

As we all learned, the 20% refund was 20% of the voyage fare which is the amount paid minus taxes & port charges, not 20% of what was paid for the cruise in whole. An e-mail to DCL finally got me the information I needed, so you should get an answer soon also. Keep us posted!
