The Best New Year's Eve Ever ~ Part Two ~ Day Thirteen
Castmembers
 Mandy (me), Paul (hubby) & Becky (DD16) Friday 8th January '10 ~ High 60F ~ Cloudy & Rain It's Paul's birthday next Tuesday (12th Jan), but we thought it would be nice to bring it forward and celebrate it today on our last full day in WDW Kerry called round with a present for him (a t-shirt), Becky got him a Fox cover for his I-Phone, and I got him a Fox jacket, Fox belt, a Disney camera strap, a Mater/Lightning McQueen photo frame and a Mater mug Shockingly, while we were watching the Weather Channel, the forecast for tomorrow was for sleet or snow ~ in the words of Victor Meldew 'I Don't Believe It !!!'  This morning we decided to head to the Disney Hollywood Studios for normal opening, and Bek decided to have a lie in  As usual we picked up a FP for Tower of Terror, then rode RockNRollerCoaster and ToT. We had a pastry and juice from Starring Rolls, then went to meet Sorceror Mickey and Goofy and Pluto. After wandering around the park we used our FP for ToT   We then went back to the room to get Bek up, and I did some washing and started our packing  Next was a quick visit to Wal-Mart, then back to the room to get ready for our dinner at Tusker House We got the bus to Animal Kingdom and arrived at Tusker House at 3.45pm (our ADR was for 4.25pm). As we were early we sat at the Dawa Bar (which Jules and Ian had recommended), and Paul had a couple of 'Lost on Safari' and I had a couple of 'Harambe Cooler' cocktails (which were delish) and then our buzzer went off, so we went off to the restaurant    This was our first dinner at Tusker House, and we really enjoyed the buffet here. I especially liked the chicken curry and samosas (Paul & Bek really enjoyed the beef). We all went up to the buffet at least 3 times, and I would imagine we would definitely eat here again We caught the bus back to the Pop and finished off our packing, and then popped round to see Kerry Me & Paul had our final Captain's Mai Tai of the holiday at Petal's Bar and then we were off to bed

Happy Birthday, Paul!!!
 I hadn't realised that January was such a complete birthday-fest in the Martindale house!!!  We've been to Tusker House for lunch and brekkie - loved them both so may well try and squeeze in an early dinner here in October!!! I actually prefer it to Boma...  Shame we're almost the end of the hols, Mandy... xxx

Update - yeah!!! Cannot believe the weather you had! We had that once when we went for Thanksgiving! I can remember we stayed in the room one day watching videos and my Mum ironed because it was just so cold!!!

We really like Tusker House too and have had lunch there twice - but never breakfast.
The beef and potatoes are one of my favourites  Another great report. |
