Ramada or HoJo - walking distance
What is the difference in walking distance/time between the HoJo and Ramada? We have our hotels narrowed down to these two and I'm curious about the true distance/walking time since we'll have our 5 year old with us.

I would say Ramada is perhaps slightly closer than HoJo. A couple minutes at most.
You can see on this map the basic proximity. http://www.accommodationsneardisney....nd/default.asp

Ramada maybe a minute or two closer but we had a very bad experience at Ramada and will never stay there again. HoJo is great btw.

Ramada is great ! Its a 5 minute quicker walk and an easier walk too .
We had an absolute ball at the Ramada compared to HoJos and would always stay here as a preference |

I don't think the Ramada is a 2 minute walk. LOL For us HoJo is about 7 min, at night when we are tired from walking all day it might take us 9 or even 10 but it's usually about the same. We have not stayed at the Ramada BUT we did stay at the Anaheim Plaza which is across the street from the Ramada and it took us the same amount of time to walk from the AP as it does from the HoJo, both were 7 min. The AP takes a little longer because you have to wait for 1 more light/crossing signal.
I would guess the Ramada is about a 5 minute walk, maybe 4.

It's really not much difference in terms of distance, but you''ll be much better off at Hojo. Trust me. No comparison. Hojo is by far much better.

We love the Ramada Maingate!!
Both Hojo and Ramada Maingate are similar distances walking from Disneyland. You can be in the resort in less than 5 minutes.
The reason we adore the Ramada is that the service is the best!! The employees genuinely care about your happiness, where other hotels (like HoJo) could care less. Also, the Ramada is in the center of the resort, where HoJo is at the North end where the freeway is the main attraction. We have found the best value to always be the Ramada. They are always at or below HoJo price and the experience is much better in my opinion

I disagree 10000000000000000% that the HoJo does not care, we've stayed at the HoJo many many times (probably 8-10) and the employees care very much about our comfort. I can't compare to the Ramada but I really find the comment that the HoJo employees don't care to be 100% incorrect.

I don't believe Ramada ever offers rates lower than the Ent. Rates that are offered at the HoJo, and I know doesn't offer a 15% discount just for being a DisBoard fan.

Picture the crosswalk , Ramada is 70-80 metres from the cross walk , HoJos is about 300-400 metres . In the morning no probs but at night when your tired etc I know where I would rather crash and there is also a slight uphill to HoJos too to deal with . They are both close enough but Ramada is definitly closer |

I'm not saying Ramada isn't closer, I'm saying the walk isn't that much different. Apparently my family walks faster then yours does. also, if you read my first post it clearly states my thoughts on the walking time, which I've basically restated here.

The walk from Hojos is faster if you cross over Harbor right outside Hojo and then walk down the DLR side of Harbor. Much fewer people/crowds and then you can short-cut thru the DL bus lanes, (which always seemed empty when we walked thru). We timed it several times in April and it was always 8 mins from Hojo's lobby to DL security going that route.
If you walked past Mimi's, Millie's etc on the other side of Harbor, and didn't cross until the main crosswalk, then it would be closer to 10 mins I guess. Our kids were 6 and 9 - and even at midnight the walk wasn't overly taxing for them - though they do walk 10 mins to school most days, so that probably helps! |

We have stayed at both and found that the two are very similar in distance to the gates. We really liked HOJOs last October. We cut across Mimi's parking lot and FFI parking lot and then walk down the sidewalk to the crossing or we walk on the Disney side of Harbor and cut across the taxi lanes/bus lanes.
