The cast:
Me – Disney obsessed, Shopaholic & extremely clumsy!
Lee (DH) – aka the Mad Hatter….

17th September 2009 = Day 10

We woke up at 7.30am again, thanks to the alarm.

We got showered and ready and got the bus to Animal Kingdom somehow we still didn’t manage to arrive until 10.30 even though we tried to get up & out early.

We stopped outside the entrance for a photopass pic….

As soon as we walked in we saw DeVine, this was a first for us as we had never managed to track her down before.

We headed over to Asia, stopping to take lots of pics on route.

We were a little peckish so stopped off for a Cinnamon roll & a cold drink, it was only 11am but we were starting to melt already, it was so HOT HOT HOT! We stood watching the monkeys for a while, they are always so playful especially the baby which had grown a lot since we were there in December.

Then took some photos of Expedition Everest:

We decided to go through the Maharajah Jungle trek in the hope that the shade would cool us down.

As we came out we headed over to Expedition Everest but the wait time was showing 30 mins and that is about 29 mins too long for Lee!

We didn’t bother getting a fastpass as we knew we wouldn’t use it so we walked over to Africa & stopped off at the Yak & Yeti counter window where Lee had a coke and I opted for a Yak Attack Cocktail: Mango Daiquiri, Bacardi Light Rum and Wildberry Flavours, YUM!!!!

Afterwards we went through the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail but I was really suffering with my ankle today I think the heat rash was making it worse so we decided that we would head back to the room.

The big guy was sat right up the back & refusing to cooperate with any of our photo taking demands today.

On the way to the exit we thought we would grab a bite to eat so stopped off in Pizzafari we both had the cheese pizza but it wasn’t very nice, I am sure they have changed it since we last had one in December.

We got the bus back to OKW about 3pm and decided to go for a swim to relax and cool off. When we got there we were thrilled to see it was totally empty so we had a lovely relaxing swim on our own for about 20 mins, eventually another family turned up. We stayed in the pool for about another 30 mins then went back to the room & showered.

This is the closest you will ever get to seeing me in my swimsuit!

Once we had freshened up we caught the boat over to Downtown Disney to get some dinner, we were gong to go to Portobello but they don’t take the dining plan so we chose Planet Hollywood. I really think they need to add a few Table Service restaurants at DTD, anyway we were seated straight away and well lets just say squash as many tables in as you possibly can is an understatement, we were practically sat on top of the table next to us.

Lee decided on Hot spicy wings to start whilst I had potato skins with cheese & bacon, (sorry for the lack of photos but we forgot to take the camera with us this evening) I left most of my potato skins as they were hard. For main course Lee had the Half Roast Chicken with mash & I had the BBQ Bacon Burger, both meals were horrid, Lee’s chicken was nasty & his mash was stone cold & lumpy, my burger was ok but the BBQ sauce was non existent & my fries were cold & hard. Our waitress was so rude for the entire time we were in there, really abrupt and slamming the plates down, she was obviously having a bad night! We didn’t bother with dessert as we just wanted to get out of their asap, we also didn’t leave a tip which I think is a first for us!

We had a little walk around Pleasure Island but I was in agony so we got the boat back to OKW around 9.30pm, earlier in the day we had bought some milk & cocoa from the shop at OKW so using the microwave Lee made us some Hot Chocolate & we watched tv for a while eating some Salt & Vinegar Lays.

Coming up….Mini Golf, DTD & La Nouba!

Shame about your bad meal at Planet Hollywood Claire, but I'm sure that the Yak Attack made up for it

Gorgeous pics again, hun... I love that one of the fountain - beautiful... And the 1st EE one is fantastic!!! I'd like to take some WDW pics like that - it's a WDW attraction but you'd never know. IMO it'd look v cool as a black & white print...

The pool at OKW looks fab BTW. I'm hoping that we're all going to stay there during next October half-term so good to see some nice pics.. Sorry about your rubbish meal at PH - Sammy and I had an appalling experience there on our last day back in December 2007 so haven't been back since...

Here it is in B&W Kaz.

We have got some B&W canvas prints of some of our photos but they not WDW, they are from New York, Australia & Atlantis on the wall in our dining room, also on our landing we have several colour canvas photos from our safari in Tanzania.

I can see lots of Yak Attacks being consumed on our Animal Kingdom day then.

I have never enjoyed PH, rude waitresses, in a group of people there is always someone's meal that doesn't arrive until everyone else is nearly finished their meals. Worst of all my drink order was totally mucked up and they tried to give me a Vodka and Coke without the Vodka
