I believe Budget is the closest (and also tends to have the best one day rates). Also near by (and all with free shuttle service) are Avis, Thrifty and Hertz.

Closest is Hertz, by maybe 1/2 block. Next is Budget. Thrifty, Avis, and Enterprise are all farther down the same road. As above, I tend to find the best rates with Budget although sometimes with the right discount codes, Avis and Thrifty have been cheaper (rentalcodes.com and mousesavers.com)
Also, Avis, Thrifty, and Budget are on site at MCO, Hertz and Enterprise are off site. |

I have found for December 19th, the rates are very high! Except with Enterprise, they are about half what the others are. I am reluctant to use them though. Anyone have any experience with them?

Have you tried appropriate discount codes? I have a rental from Budget on the 19th for $40. A full size car was $3 more.

Budget was open by 8am. You won't really get off the ship much earlier than that anyway. They pick you up at the port. They have a little curbside waiting area and the shuttle comes and gets you. It was about a 10min drive from the port to their offices. We were in and out with our car in under 10min after we got there. We were able to drop the car off at MCO.
