Live Trip Report ~ Day 6 NO SHUTTLE AGAIN!
Hi ~ We drove to Disney's Wilderness Preserve in the morning and walked around to enjoy Florida's wilderness. Afterwards we drove to Celebration....it was our first time there....very nice!
Downtown Disney for our BIG shopping day! I can't find a couple of things....I'll look elsewhere tomorrow. Spent the rest of the day swimming, relaxing in the sun and waiting for the shuttle to launch....BUT it's been scrubbed again for the 5th time this week. Better safe than sorry. Now I'm enjoying my own wine and cheese party before turning in! Only one more day and then home on Wednesday.... ....I'm already thinking Disney Cruise! LOL! Blessings, S

Very disappointing about the shuttle. It looks like you'll be home before they get off the ground.
Have a great last day at the parks!!!!

Also, how were the trails ... muddy or dry? Lots of mosquitoes? Any gators or snakes? (those would be a bonus for me, but other than turtles and tortoises the rest of the family are pretty ... unreceptive to members of the reptile family) |

Google Disney's Wilderness Perserve.... they have a great website.
There are a couple of trails. Call ahead to make sure they are open....sometimes they close due to flooding. They aren't open on weekends in the summer. We walked in about a km before turning back due to muck. NO mosquitoes! But the grasshoppers are the size of hands! There aren't many grasshoppers, but I noticed a few big ones. We saw teensy weensy frogs....so cute. And the lilly pads moved suspiciously....hhhhmmmm. The vegetation is awesome....stuff we don't see in Canada. I love how flat Florida is! There isn't a admission, just a donation and parking is free. It's about 30 miles south of Disney World. Ciao, Sandra

Don't feel bad about missing the shuttle launch Sandra - seems like every time we're down in Florida, our trip has coincided with a shuttle launch. Unfortunately every time, the launch has been either scrapped or moved by a few days so we've missed it
