Hello, I went on my first Disney cruise on May 30th, I was just wondering how long it takes to get the code to register for the Castaway Club in the mail?

You will not get anything in the mail. Just call DCL and they will give you your #'s for castaway club.

Oh ok, thank you. I thought I read somewhere that it comes in the mail.

Well...SOMETIMES a packet comes in the mail but most times it does not. It is very sporadic as to CC packets getting mailed. We have been cruising DCL 10 years (17 cruises) and NEVER get anything in the mail from them.!!!

I got mine about a month after the cruise... but apparently it is not reliable.. I would just call. It's just a paper card with your CC # on it.

You do not register at all--you are automatically part of the Castaway Club after you sail on DCL. As above, you sometimes get a packet in the mail, sometimes not.

Whether you get a mailing or not, you will be in their computer if/when you sail again. I recently booked a trip for 6 of us. When I did the online check in, the one guests who had sailed before was in the computer. OK, this kid was OUR guest on this trip and the reservation was in my DD's name as lead. On his previous cruise he had been with his family and the reservation had been (I guess) in his parents' name. He was already in the computer with passport number, emergency contact info, etc.

And...for those of you who ask such things, when we checked in the CM said "I see that three of you have sailed before" and handed me 3 castaway lanyards. It didn't matter--the kids had no intention of wearing them, but no, she did not give them to our whole group.

When I called in January, they told me they were no longer sending out packets or giving out cards for CC members. They did give me my numbers over the phone.
