I was wondering the same thing about having my ex in my house without me. I would want some privacy in my home and I wouldnt want to have to pack up and leave it every few days.

I thought it was exremely strange how they kept saying they bought the house for the kids. Who buys a house for "your kids". Dont you usually buy a house for "your family"? I feel like they always put their kids first, when it was their family/marriage that should have been first. I bet if you ask those kids which they would rather have, that big house or the family, they would pick the family. My parents were divorced when I was 5 and it was awful for me.

If they didnt already, I wish they would have tried some counseling first. Maybe they did, I dont know. I am not a church going person, but it seemed that Jon and Kate were. I find it hard to believe that they were so religious that they would not go to their pastor first and try to find a way to work through their issues. Didnt their vow renewal cake even have bible passages on it? Just seems to me that they threw in the towel rather quickly.

How can she say the show had nothing to do with their issues? Sure, not all of their issues, but it definately had an impact. Just looking back at those old tapes of them would have me say to my DH "let's give this show up and go back to being us again."

On another happier note-how sweet was Aaden last night during the little race they had? He stops half way through the race to pick up his stuffed animal he dropped. What a cutie.
I agree with one thing Kate said last night, how could you not smile looking at those 6 sweet faces.

part of me wishes I watched, if only so stuff I'm reading would make more sense. I'm really hesitant to even comment much on last night's show because of it.

I am glad they have time off, to deal with this.

sounds they're taking a 5 week break. I have to say, I'm a little surprised that TLC isn't going ahead and showing the episodes already filmed. I'm not sure that they've got enough for 5 shows, but I'd say it's close based on what know about their recent filming schedule.

What does "Notice of Counseling" mean?

Seems Kate got a local attorney, no attorney is listed for Jon, People reported him seeing a lawyer in New York City, would he be able to handle a divorce in Pennsylvania? I wonder what kind of lawyer he saw, divorce? contract? entertainment? real estate? Something is up with New York IMHO. There has to be more to him moving there (if he really is) than just the nightlife.

IIRC from my divorce, isn't that a letter they send to Jon informing him that she has Counsel and it may be in his best interest to obtain some as well since there is none listed?

I don't think it has anything to do with Marriage Counseling as it's generally not a requirement to divorce in PA.

No - you could hear the producers asking Jon the questions and not so much asking Kate. I'm guessing they were asked the same questions but there's no way to verify that obviously.

I watched it this morning but between the phone and everything else, couldn't focus too much and can't see going back to spend more time on it today. The thing that shocked me the most is that they really had no reaction - they looked the same as every other interview. I would think that they'd have had red eyes from crying or something if you're so close to the family. I was at home crying and don't even know the darned family personally! I just thought it was odd - that's all.

I figured they taped the interviews before the actual divorce was decided. At the time, they probably had planned to separate & maybe work on things.....Like Ross & Rachel - "On a Break".
The whole taking a break thing was not her "ideal situation", she wanted to either stay together & work through the issues together or divorce....none of this long drug-out on a break crap. From my personal experience, the we're still together but separated only causes more confusion for the kids.

That's what I took it to mean.

I agree - especially with the bolded part. During the interview part, they both said "seperation" and it wasn't really "announced" that there was a divorce until the words came up on the screen. I hate to say it but I was kind of relieved when they both said "seperated" but it was all too real when the words popped up on the screen about the paperwork being filed (even though I'd already heard it on HLN earlier).

Do the things at the bottom (like the list of three things) need to be completed (where is says Entry of Appearance and such - copied below) or that they've already been completed? I have a feeling this is going to be a long, yucky road. I pray for the best for those adorable little kiddos! They can come and live with me any time for some "peace of quiet" as my DS4 would say.

Those are all the forms already filed with the courts - pretty standard (from my personal experience). There is usually a scanned copy for all to see - probably takes a few days.

The Complaint of Divorce is the one with all the gorey details, date of separation, etc. Probably just lists "Irrecconcilable Differences" are reason - I believe they call PA a "No Fault" state....you don't have to blame anyone for the divorce.

Why is this coming up in Montgomery County, didn't they file in Bucks County & live in Berks County....or something like that.

I thought he saw a media attorney - wasn't that article in People?? I recall the article - just not the details.

I think something's up with NYC too! Why wouldn't you stay with your mom or the old house or Jodi and Kevin or in a neighboring town??? Maybe Jon's new girlfriend can be on the Real Housewives of New York City and Kate can be on the Real Housewives of PA. (can you tell I love my other trainwreck tv - although that's not nearly as bad as J&K).

Between the NYC info and the comment about getting offered a job, something's going on. Didn't Jon mention something in the Utah interview about working with the Olypmics or something like that???

I didn't understand it, either. According to TMZ, the records are not to be released. My guess is that they don't want the amount of assets leaked.

from what I can tell, and hopefully you can clarify .. the rules are somehow different in Montgomery than Berks? The records can be sealed in Montgomery? I'm trying to make heads or tails of what I'm reading and honestly, it's not making sense. LOL.

That explains why you can't see the docs in that link...you usually can.
I don't think this is stuff that should be released. Things can get very personal & angry, everything you write on any court document is usually published for the world to see.

I'm not sure on the rules...I was divorced in Allegheny County.

I completely agree.

and honestly? I don't give a flying flip about their divorce. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious in what the assets are, because I'd love to know if the reports of their worth estimated at $10 million are even remotely correct. Other than that, could not care less.
