We always clean up and change before going to PFTS. I usually wear a sundress and my husband wears khakis and a polo. It's a resort casual dress-code, similar to what you might expect to see in a signature restaurant.

I'm not in the park all day. I stay at the Beach Club Villas, so I walk back and change.
But it should not be a problem to wear something like khaki pants and a shirt to PFTS. I don't know about shorts. I have seen people there in shorts but I don't think that's appropriate personally. Nice dress shorts would be preferable I'd guess. I see people there in everything from park attire (not many of them - most people try to dress up a little) to cocktail dresses. I am planning to do a couple of the $8 seminars and 3 signature dinners - easier to fit all that in since I only have to pay for one person. Only 2 seminars for a couple adds up to $32. I don't think that sounds all that nominal. I hope they serve larger portions of both the food and the wine.

Totally agree about PFTS. I've always gone back to my room for a break, showered, and changed. I usually wear a nice sundress and some low heeled sandals, but I've seen a lot of fairly dressed up people at the PFTSs I've attended.

I plan to wear crocs, nice capris, and a top during the day, and renting a locker, so I can keep a change of clothes, and then change into nice sandals and one of my nicer tops for the party. |

Thanks for the advice. We are staying at the Poly. I guess depending on the weather we might bring the change for the lockers or go back to the room and freshen up.
And the PFTS is listed as 2.5 hours. Is that incorrect? Where is the PFTS held in EPCOT?

Also, I'd skip the concert and get there well before 6:30, since there seems to be a mad rush as soon as the gates open. |

At PFTS, they start pressing (through announcements) for you to leave to watch Illuminations, but I've been in there after it started. They start shutting down then. I do not know what exact time they finally kick everybody out of the World Showplace.
I agree that if you do not want to book the Wine View Room with reserved seating, and you want a shot at staking out a seat, then skip the concert and wait for the doors to open instead. If you don't care about holding a seat, then you can go in anytime.

Forgive me if this question has already been addressed....the thread is too many pages to read through. I've noticed that all of the official announcements and descriptions for PFTS talk about food and entertainment. I really don't see ANYTHING mentioned about wine being included in the regular $136 per person charge. Is wine NOT included this year unless you pay the extra $75 for the Wine View Lounge? If that is the case, we most likely would not consider going this year. If hope this isn't the case. Anyone have a link to any official Disney site? I even checked the the official Walt Disney World site for the Food and Wine fest. Maybe I'm missing it. We've been to two PFTS and they were wonderful.

http://wdw2.wdpromedia.com/media/wdw...tivalGuide.pdf Wine will be included at the PFTS, but which wineries and how many will be included is what is under discussion and supposition right now. It is assured that the better wines will be in the Wine View Lounge. But which ones will be left in the main room? No one knows yet.

Agreed with what Elin said. There's apparently some supposition going around right now based on the writing used in the description that there will be NO wine whatsoever available for the main party and ALL the wine will be accessible only through the increased Wine View Room pricing, based (looking at it with my lawyer's eye) on the fact that the word "wine" does not appear in the official description - the word used is "beverage." At a semi-educated guess this is quite unlikely. The word "beverage" could be used to cover wine, beer and spirits - all of which have been offered at the party- and there have been traditionally no offerings of non-alcoholic beverages other than water. The more likely scenario is that the high-end wines and spirits will be reserved for the Wine View customers, although no one can tell for certain yet.

Should be interesting to see what the Wine View room is all about. This is the only F&W event that we are doing, other than the WS kiosks, since we are only in WDW for a long weekend, so we're springing for the upcharge. The secured seating thing never bothered me . The first year I went we met up with some wonderful DISers and we shared tables, but last year I went with a friend and we just worked our way around the room. If we saw an empty table or 2 empty seats fine, but it wasn't that big a deal to us.

What is the take from the veterans on the Wine View Lounge? Good idea? Waste of money?
