The temperature is one reason we don't end up buying much in the way of wine when we do our F&W gorging. We usually have good luck with the beer, but when the wine is too warm ... GACK!

Thanks for the heads up! Our past f&w experience has been with kids, so, to be honest, temperature was never an issue! I think we're going to be having a whole NEW experience this year! I would be all IN for that dispenser!!!

That is really gross. I've never had that issue at the DCA Food& Wine festivals. April-June in CA are nothing like Florida in October in the heat department though.

I am so looking forward to my first Florida F&WF. My spouse was all "Didn't you just do that at Disneyland?" What he doesn't know about Disney could just about fill the Grand Canyon.

I am going for my first F&W. We arrive on Thursday September 24th (late) and are leaving Monday the 28th around noon. That basically leaves us Friday, Saturday and Sunday to do our touring. I know weekends are really busy, but with Friday being the opening day, which is the best option? It's just me and a few Girlfriends, so no kids to worry about. Thanks!

Just the girls, no kids...you will have a blast. When you arrive at EPCOT grab the F&W schedule booklet, give it a quick glance as you walk over to festival center. Grab something there and then decide what to do with your days (if you want to attend any samplings, just walk around the world showcase booths, or you may have booked some of the paid events before you even arrived).

I wouldn't let the prospect of crowds deter you. I was there last year during the first 10 days of the festival. I can tell you that I was a little freaked out over the LACK of crowds during the daytime hours. The vast majority of the booths had no line at all. However, the lower the sun got on the horizon, the longer the lines got. The evenings were crowded but not "holiday season" unbearable.

Just go, relax and have a blast!

You know... you all brought up a point I had NEVER thought of: wine temps at the F&W Festival.

I have no idea why that never occurred to me before but it would explain why I wasn't always happy with the selections. This year will mark my 12th Festival, I love to drink good wine, I ain't too stupid... Why the heck didn't I tweak to this?!?

And I totally agree with your discussion of using enomatics at some of the events. I love having a wine bar here who has put in 6 of them, and make good use of it on a weekly basis. I wonder if my enomatics card would work at the F&W Festival....

Actually, one of Disney's Chefs gave me his thermometer and asked me to take temps and then to email Disney.

Did this last year, so hopefully it will be better this year!

Also, they did have cast members doing surveys last year. We had them come up to us several times and ask about the temp of the food. Which sometimes was off. We also told them about the wine temperatures.

The tickets for all Food & Wine Festival ticketed events are currently scheduled to go on sale August 11. Keep watching this thread for updates!

We're going Friday. I have a feeling that the locals won't bother to come out in droves the first day because the park is only open until 8pm. Or at least - that's what I'm hoping. Not to mention MNSSHP is going on at MK, F! will be showing at HS, and AK has evening EMH until 8 that night. So the people there on vacation have lots of other things to distract them.

Opening weekend is usually pretty busy. I expect that the locals will be out in force on Friday and Saturday.
