I am not happy about the higher prices for food pairings. That was one of the few good deals.
I'm also curious to see what the "nominal fee" will be for the seminars. The seminars & food demos have been our favorite things to do. A small fee will making it easier to get in. Last year if the next seminar was something we really wanted to catch, one of us would have to leave a few minutes early to get in to the next one. Having to do that was something I didn't enjoy at all! Learning is what that is about for us. I felt rude to get up right at the very end. The "regulars" were getting up midway to get to the next one. In chatting with people in line, I found that most were not simply trying to guzzle free wine. Most were frustrated that Disney had cut back on the amount of seminars. Edit: I have to retract some of that. My DH who usually stays in the line, while I fetch drinks or browse, disagrees with me. He felt there are a lot who just want to guzzle free wine. He's hoping that a fee will help the wait times & improve the overall experience. I'm sort of angry about the upcharge at PFTS. So this is how they handle not providing enough seating! Charge more for reserved seats. That just stinks! How are they going to do this, just section off one area for VIPS. So will have a caste system at PFTS?! Last edited by shovan; 06-25-2009 at 02:49 PM. Reason: DH disagreed! |

We were there during the F&WF last year, thought that it was a little to crowded in the showcase, but the different beers around the world kind of made it a little more bearable

My husband and I plan on attending the PFTS on 10/17. Does anyone have an idea as to what dishes "Classical" might include, or which restaurants might be represented? I know nothing official is out, I am just looking for opinions from experienced partiers. Thanks!

When does it say Paula would be there? I'd love to go and see her. She is one of my favorites!
I am thoroughly miffed about this nonsense with PFTS. They should have enough tables and seating to begin with, not charge more for the ability to have that option.

My mother will probably want to go to Paula Deen's lunch even if it is held in Palmhenge at the Festival Welcome Center.
Have found something else to go to - the South Africa wine school.

DH and I were married at the WL on Halloween in 2003, followed by an incredible dinner at V&A. Just the two of us and it was great!
After our ceremony we had arrived at the GF too early to check in to V&A, so we were walking around, looking at everyone dressed up for Halloween, getting ready to head over to the MK. The little girls dressed up as princesses were to die for - and they kept joking back to me that I was dressed like a princess too.... If you ever see a couple walking around one of the parks on Halloween with handmade t-shirts (courtesy of our nephews) poking fun at our anniversary, that would be DH and I...

Oh that lunch sounds great with Paula Deen and them.
However we're set to arrive at noon on the 26th. I wonder what my husband will think if I convince him we should leave at 3am that morning (its a 5.5 hour drive) or visit my mother in St. Augustine on the 25th & leave there at around 6am. I need to sit down and figure this out. I should also update IPO with my new reservation requests that I'll be switching around on these events (our 90 day is this Sunday)

I'm just bowled over by having this information so early compared with the last few years ...
I know it's not official, but it sure makes the potential ADR planning a lot easier. ![]() ![]()

I am so dang disappointed in the scheduled. I would have loved to have seen Paula Deen. It seems like every festival I go to the big name chefs aren't there that week. Grrr.
Nothing else is peaking my interest. I don't want to go to Party for the Senses again because I did not like having to be on my feet all night. I also got food poisoning from it last year (shocking with the calaber of chefs there, I know). Sean wants to go again though.
