Food and Wine Questions
We have been several times during the F&W Festival but have never stopped at a booth or tried one single thing
-we don't care for wine and are usually stuffed from being on the dining plan. After looking at some of the menus we have decided we want to give some items a try.1. How big are the sample sizes? There are 3 of us, me, DH and ds,14. We aren't looking to make a meal out of the samples, but would they be large enough for us each to have a taste? If it's something we really like we figure we can get go back for seconds. 2. We are on the dining plan-we hope that snack credits can still be used. If not will we be able to charge to the room? TIA! We are so excited to be trying something new this time!

OK, since the prices are now out, here is the information you needed to know (but really didn't want to know
)If you BUY one of everything at each of the booths this year, the cost would be $819. The number does not include the Desani and Evian waters . It only includes the smaller (12 oz) beers (if there was a choice). Out of the above number, food: $245.50 dessert $49.25 wine $199.50 beer $173.25 sparkling wine $53.00 cocktails $63.75 The breakdown might be suspect because I had some trouble determining whether a beverage was a wine, mixed drink, or non alcoholic (e.g. the huge increase in price for the cocktails). ![]() Below was last year's results: Total $728 $201.65 for food $52.00 for desserts $221.00 for wine $140.00 for beer $52.00 for champagne $27.70 for cocktails Part of the increase in price is one additional booth this year. My number one must try is either the beef tenderloin with sweet potatoes from the South Africa booth, or the lobster and scallop pie from the Ireland booth. Somehow my list of 14 must-try items has gone up to 30.

It's all at the Welcome Center, and there was an area set up last year going into Canada.

For all you chilaquiles mourners -- they are *extremely* easy to make.
Pyrex baking dish Pour green tomatilla salsa to lightly cover bottom Put a layer of corn tortillas down Then a layer of shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken is GREAT)! Layer of shredded cheese Layer of green tomatilla sauce Another layer of corn tortillas Layer of cheese More green tomatilla sauce If you like cilantro you can put chopped cilantro on top of the chicken & cheese layer. Cover with foil and bake for about 1 hour in a 350 oven Top with a dollop of sour cream Believe me!

It's still by Canada - we went to Epcot last night during EMH, and saw the booth set up for general festival merch. We spent this morning at DHS, back at the hotel now and are possibly going to Epcot this evening, so I'll try to get pics up later. If we're not there tonight,we'll definitely be there Monday, so either way food pics are coming soon

I didn't realize I should come here first to ask before creating a new topic, sorry about that, but I feel very "off put" by being dumped into this thread and not having my question addressed by whoever put it here. Sorry, I just don't understand how this was not a question that was ok to ask to the whole restaurant board

It isn't that your question isn't okay for the whole board, it's just that on this thread you will find the persons most knowledgeable about the food and wine festival. I am not the person who moved your thread, but I am sorry you feel put out about it being moved. It is possible the person who moved your thread did not know the answers and put it where they knew you could get them. Here is where you will most rapidly find the responses you are seeking. In answer to your questions:
The sample sizes are smaller than appetizers. Two persons could share one and get a pretty good idea of the taste. I would not think you could share them easily among three persons. Some plates might be big enough. Most would probably not. There is now a festival thread on the review board. If you are not leaving sometime this weekend, you will probably find photographs of some of the samples on that thread within the next couple of days. Yes, you can use snack credits for food booth items. On this thread it was pointed out that some of the menu photos that have just been released today do not have the DDP logo beside the food items (all items at the San Juan and one item at the Barley and Hops booth) so you might have to ask at that booth whether DDP covers those items. Yes, you can use room key cards, credit cards, gift cards, Disney Visa reward dollars, Disney Dollars, cash or DDP snack credits at the booths. Be aware that sometimes the scanners don't work properly - some say you should always carry some cash in case you are in the situation where you would have to wait for someone to repair a malfunctioning scanner.
