I agree just meeting Morimoto would be awesome. Why can't he come to Disney sometime?

Robert Irvine rode the buses? did he complain about the lines? He took his shirt off for photos at the Party for the Senses, hope he comes back. He's got to show up on one of my four weekends (although NY is going to ensure that I only do one PFTS)

F&W has pretty much stopped having events in Disney restaurants during business hours, most likely for the reasons you just outlined. It should not make it more difficult for you to get ADRs.

Epcot does not close early because of F&W but be aware that Epcot currently closes at 8 PM on Fridays.

If he came to Disney they would charge even more outrageous prices and then none of us would be able to afford to see him.

You're more than welcome to post it on the bendy thread ... everyone there would love to hear about it. Or just start your own thread ... you're always doing really cool stuff ... I like reading about it for sure and I bet others do, too.

As far as I know from previous F&W trips, there is litte if any impact on regular diners.

Some events are held in the 'Festival' building (AKA Wonders of Life), some are held in private dining rooms like the ones in Tutto Italia, with no impact on regular diners, Some are held at lunchtime in restaurants like Bistro de Paris, that are not otherwise open for lunch. Some are held in restaurants that do not have many regular diners at lunchtime like Marakesh. Some events are held in the Millenium Pavillion (a building reserved for special functions). Ther is unlikely to be much affect on availibility of ADRs on your trip. A very few restaurants, like V&A, will be holding special dinners one night during F&W and will sell out within 15 seconds of opening for bookings.

Don't forget that every person attending a F&W dinner or lunch, is one less person competing with you for an ADR that night.

Epcot does not close early because of F&W, although F&W is held during that part of the year when Epcot hours are cut back anyway.

Wher are the announcements of classes and dinners that will be availible for booking on Monday. The link at the beginning of this thread doesn't have much information yet

I was referring not to Epcot but to the Food Network Wine and Food Festival in New York City which I am attending. All information we have about Epcot is that booking will commence on August 11 and no schedules or information for 2009 have been released yet.

I haven't seen anything as to how many countries but I think (just speculation mind you) based on their website Epcot International Food and Wine Festival it will be 'Celebrating Culinary Adventures' .

A few of us were 'talking' yesterday and speculating whether we would be able to make our special event reservations on line this year since Disney now has the automated ADR system.

Has anyone heard if we will still need to be on the phone at a certain date/time or if it will all be done on their website?

*le sigh* You guys are making me jealous. Our first F&W trip is only 4 days long, and most of it will be spent with BTE. Add to that our current bank balance, and... no special events for us!

Well, we can at least enjoy the booths, and the general atmosphere.

You will have so much fun, and with days you can enjoy all the booths. We try EVERYTHING, but tend to try to pair things nicely. Like one lunch, all chicken dishes. One night all desserts. One lunch beers. One dinner red wine etc. It works well until the the absolute yummy dish comes along and you want to eat that all the time. Also DH and I found if we share an offering we can get around the world without exploding. This works well until the absolute yummy dish comes along.....We even try to keep score - this is a 1 -2 - 3- 4 - 5 star dish or beverage. We always think we will post the results but alas never do. And even at $2-4 an offering, the cost can add up.....You will have fun!!!!
