The twins and I were out grocery shopping this evening, and I spotted a bunch of money folded up on the floor near the frozen foods. I picked it up and discovered over $60 in there. No one was near by to ask if it belonged to them, so I told the girls we had to go to customer service and turn it in.

They wanted to know why we couldn't keep it. I asked, "What if it was your money and you lost it, wouldn't you want some one to turn it in for you?" They both said yes, so off we went.

The lady at the desk took my name and home number, then said if no one claimed it within 30 days, they'd call me and it was mine to keep. Hmmmm, cool.

Before I even left the store, my cell phone (well, technically it's Ruben's) rang signaling I had a message waiting for me on our home voicemail. It was from the lady who'd lost the money!
She got my name and number from the store because she wanted to call and thank me for turning it in. She said, "You don't know what kind of year we've had and this just means so much. Thank you and God bless you."

I let the kids hear the message so they could understand first hand why it was so important to turn that money in. You never know who desperately would miss it.

Too bad, it would have been nice to have kept it. I could have used it for Vegas next month!

Just kidding! lol Hearing that lady's message, and the sound of her voice when she was thanking me, it was like she really couldn't believe someone had turned it in.
That was really cool, and made me like a million bucks.


So there. I did my good deed for the year. Can I go back to normal now?

Did anyone see Home Makeover on Sunday? I just watched it over the internet, because I forgot to DVR it and I was almost in tears so many times. Great episode.

I didn't see it but I know all about it! They came into my school (well my old/current school), the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis to make paper. I DVRed it but I still need to watch it. They filmed it AGES ago but they just now aired it. Is that the one? It's the big talk right now I guess.

Donna ~ It's interesting to see how different countries act, like with the lost purse thing in Japan. I saw a special once on some country that I now cannot even remember which one it was, but their police don't use guns. Don't even carry them. There's no need. The crime is so low, and what little there is, isn't violent like that.

Michelle ~ I stopped watching Home Makeover a long time ago. It's a good show, but it seemed like each week the stories were more and more tragic and all I'd do was bawl the whole show! lol

Sarah ~ So awesome of you to volunteer to be our party entertainment for the next Meet and Greet! Cool.

Christine ~ 41 degrees??? Wow. By 8:30 this morning it was already 85, now we are at 90.

Laurie ~ You are doing so good. Keep it up! I know it's so hard to quit any addiction. It's all you can think about and every hour seems to drag on forever. But I know you can do this.

I cleaned my butt off all day and did three loads of laundry and it barely looks like I made a dent. Figures eh LOL.

Great photos!! Welcome back! Hope you had a fantastic trip.

So brave! I could never go on a cruise, even looking at your photos make me scared & nauseous.

It warmed up to 73 today - very nice. No humidity. By the weekend it will be back to the 80's and hoping the CA heat will not make it's way to NC quite yet. We have 90's to 105 ish with high humidity all summer.

I'm off to get ready for AI and hopefully not fall asleep. For some reason I was up until 3:30 a.m. this morning, then slept for 3 hours and up for the day.

Gee, could anyone around here be keeping me up b/c that's when all the action happens here? No way...I'm just nosy!!!

You really can't feel the ship moving too much at all. You should try a cruise. They are so much fun and the prices are so cheap right now.
