*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

I'm sorry I have to have yet another selfish post. Most of my grades have been posted!

Still waiting on the grades for:

Ceramics/Wheel Throwing (I anticipate an A-), Sound Workshop, Lighting Workshop, both of which I expect an A

The ones I do know are...

Digital Portfolio (2 cr.): A
Senior Thesis Capstone(3cr.): A- (that paper pulled my grade from a B to an A- ... it better have, it took me over 30 hours! My attendance wasn't so hot )
Advanced Black & White Photography(3cr.): B
Advanced Color Photography(3cr.): B- ( I was expecting a C just because I didn't want to explain my artwork to my prof. I severely disliked him because he is very unkind and immature about his approach to teaching and critiquing student artwork. oh well it's done and I gave him a crappy evaluation )

Time Based Workshop(1cr.): A

all for a grand total of 18 credit hours (all but 3 were studio art). My largest attempt thus far and I think I did a mighty job. I didn't cuss anybody out either. Well at least not to their face, but with Flounder (the color prof, I came pretty darn close and he was the only one I cussed out behind their back)

Hey, how is the makeover process going?

Yeouwch about the sweater...I am not that great at laundry so we just buy things that have a smaller chance of being ruined in the regular wash cycle. Makeover is going ok so far. I got some sun while in Reno, teeth whitening I am thrilled with, glasses are a hit, and I got my pedicure....so now I just need to get my hair cut, find a miracle cure for my skin to make my face look younger, and lose the weight....I start ww on monday.

It is bejeweled but you have to get as many "points" in 1 minute...my highest is 68,400 but I have friends who are at 144,000....I have a long way to go! It is completely addictive though...I can't play when the kids are around or they will get ignored completely!

Mel, how fun for your family to make these kinds of memories, especially given your sister's health and your mom being able to still do Disney in her 80s! Have a wonderful time at Clubb 33. It truly is the kind of place to do a once in a lifetime celebration!

Thankyou Jane! I can not wait to go. My Mom and my other sister have not been to DL since they added DCA and DTD. We are also staying at the Grand, so it will be really nice just to sit in the lobby and chill whenever we want too!

Sounds like you are off to a great start!! If you find a miracle cure for aging, please share your secret. For myself I use sunscreen everyday, and at night always put on BHAs. Salicylic acid.

I am. Two doors down are some friends of theirs. A brother and sister. They got grounded for not going to school. Their mom was at work, and they had the house key, so they went home. They stay home alone all the time. I'm not sure why they were grounded. How long did their mom expect them to stand out there waiting? It's not like they waited 10 minutes and left. It had been over an hour.

OMG, speaking of control over a household, I watched three episodes of that Nanny 911 the other day, and wow! I told Ruben I guess we got extremely lucky with all our kids. They NEVER acted the way they show those kids acting. I could not believe it. Personally I think some of those kids just need a good swat on the behind. But, that's just me.

which teeth whitening did you do? I did Bright Smile a few years ago and liked it--I need to do it again but need to be motivated.

I actually don't remember what it is called. They made the trays with the teeth molds and the gel to put in the molds is in a blue syringe type thing. I have done it 4 times and can see a HUGE improvement! I am really pleased!

I made a digital scrapbook for Jane for the exchange, but like a dope, didn't scan it in. It would be easy for me to switch the pictures out if I ever get time! Oh, and congrats on your Club 33 visit....you're still allowed to bribe me though.


So, last night to 'settle down', I decided to work on the blog. Yeah, that's not too relaxing. I've got a basic site set up, but am working on tweaking it. I'll post the link at some point when it's looking a little better.

Well that was a nice quick reply! Thanks! I'm trying to make some kind of an itinerary for our upcoming trip. We will have 4 days, but with my Mom being 85 and all, it would be nice to know what days for inside shows, parades and all. I don't want to have to go back and forth alot. Same with my Sister with the cancer. Not sure how she will do. Normally she is like me...........a real commando type and go go go............and loves all the rides. I'm anxious to see her, and see how she is doing. All of her hair is gone, so she will be donning hats and scarfs. She hates her wig. Says it itches like heck!

Did I mention that we will also be going to Club 33 on this trip? Yep!

So Heather you can take me off of the bribery list.......

Uhhh, ok. How rude. *****. So after my kids, and several others were left standing on a street corner for an hour they finally just walked home. I don't have the mini van, Ruben does, so I had no choice but to let them stay home.

Now I don't know if this will be an unexcused absence or not as I'm sure eventually a bus showed up, but seriously, how long are you supposed to leave kids hanging around on a street corner before it just becomes ridiculous? And we didn't even have an estimated time of arrival, just one rude sentence and a hang up.

Whatever. I told them not to worry about it. They are in their rooms reading now.

Well that's crazy. Why didn't they auto phone homes to let them know that there was an issue? And really? They couldn't get a bus out there within an hour? And if they were an hour late, why didn't the school call?

If you left your kids standing on a street corner, you would be considered a terrible mother. The school district does it, and nada.

My mother's office does whitening packs. I actually got a tray made years ago, and then will just pick up a syringe when I want to whiten. I whiten maybe once a year or if I have a wedding or fancy event to go to.

Everytime I watch that show with my Mom she always say "No way in heck (well another word) would I have ever let you get away with acting like that!!!" Seriously, those kids are just out of control and it's the parent's fault!

Dang girl, that's a lot of school in one semester! I'm going to have to pull one or two really full semesters so I can finish my BA in two years. Great job with those grades, though! I'm going to try to get at LEAST a 3.0GPA (right now my GPA is only 2.96 because of some bad semesters when I was in high school & was dealing with personal issues) because I really to graduate Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude. I doubt I could get a Summa Cum Laude (4.0 GPA!) But I would love to graduate with honors

Be thankful you aren't in the wedding. Unless you enjoy wearing ugly unflattering dresses, spending tons of money and time on things you could care less about, and having someone else tell you what to do. Be a guest at the wedding. Its more fun.
