2n days and counting!
Just took a quick break from packing, I can't believe we'll be there in 2 days!! We leave early tomorrow for the 9-10 hour drive, stay off property tomorrow night, then off to drop off the luggage at the Poly first thing Sunday!
Poor DS (2 weeks shy of 5) is so anxious to leave, he asked if we could go to sleep right now so tomorrow morning would come faster. He's even willing to forego his evening soccer game tonight if we would just get on with it already. ![]() Weather report looks great - low 80s all week, only one chance of rain on Monday - yipee!!

Funny about work. I say I'm going on vacation and suddenly they are all worried! My manager had the audacity to say, "they have internet access there". I told him it was the meanest thing he's ever said and I'm not bringing a computer with me. They won't be getting me to work while on vacation! Quote:

Yeah--I decided not to bring my laptop either. I have been debating about getting and bringing a smartphone with email access. I think I am leaning against it just because it would be a horrible learning curve trying to use it on vacation and if something is THAT important, the agents covering my business will call me and I will just go over to the CR and pay to use one in their business center. Afterall, it's vacation....not working from WDW!

Since we will have a car with us, which is the best longhouse to request that is close to the parking lot? Any suggestions?

I would request Rarotonga because it's the closest Longhouse to the Great Ceremonial House, so it means your not far from the parking lot.

"Isn't it strange that I live further south than you , but it takes me 10 1/2 hours to get to WDW? Not fair! What time are you leaving?"
Hi Carrie772! I'm trying to talk DH into leaving at about 7am, but I think he wants to have a leisurely morning, more like 8:30. Sigh. |

![]() As others have said, Raratonga is quite close to the parking lot. Rapa Nui has a parking lot directly in front of it, too. Tahiti is also close to that second lot. Tokelau is close to the same lot as Raratonga.

Unloading luggage?
After we arrive and get our parking pass I usually just park the car in front of the GCH and we find a luggage cart and load it up ourselves. Then DW 'guards' it while I check in. Then we stand there until a bellhop comes and gets our room number and takes the cart and then I park in the lot.
Is that the right way to go about things? We've never seen too many cars parked in front when arriving so it doesn't seem like we are blocking others or anything. |

In less than 12 hours I'll be on my way to the Poly!
![]() Everything's packed, kids are sleeping... now maybe if I could stop my brain from going over my list for the 1 millionth time, I could get some sleep myself! This time tomorrow, I'll be on the Poly beach enjoying the view. Hope everyone who's headed out in the next few days has a wonderful time!
