We just returned from a four night stay at the Poly and had a blast!!!

I wanted to post this video of the torch lighting! This guy was fabulous - the speed at which he did the spinning and throwing was amazing. A short little show, but definitely worth making some time out to see. It was at 6:00 each night we were there - not sure when it is at other times of the year. It was fabulous!

(I apologize in advance that I am NOT the best video-taker...oops)!

That is so cool! Thanks for posting and I'm glad you had a good time!! We'll defininitely have to check it out. Where exactly does it take place?

Great video! Thanks for posting. We never made it to the torch lighting ceremony. Very talented guy. I get scared just walking with a candle...

Thanks for posting that! It looked pretty cool from what I saw. I ended up stopping it b/c I didn't want to spoil seeing it live on my trip.

Oh my! What a great video! We saw the end of that when we were there!

Well, we decided on the GF for our Dec stay, and will wait for next spring for the Poly! A must do in 2010~

I read somewhere that the Dole Whips machine was broken. Is that true?

It wasn't broken 4 weeks ago. I didn't get one but other people were eating dole whips.

The Dole Whip machine was not working when we were in Capt Cooks on Sunday, 5/17. I heard from others at the resort that it had not been working the day before either. I don't know about when, or IF, it has been fixed yet.

Thanks so much for posting the video!

The Torch Lighting Ceremony is something that shouldn't be missed. Even when we're not staying at the Poly, we try to arrange our visits around seeing this. It's one of those little touches that make the Poly such a special place.
