Hope this doesn't happen..but if it was a rainy day...
Which resort is it best to be stranded in? The worst?

AKL would be great to be stranded in. It is all under one roof so no need to get wet to refill your mug. There are lots of activities at the lodge. You can sit on the balcony and watch the animals in the rain.
POLy was awful when it rained. We got soaked going to the main bldg.

I can see rain putting a damper on vacation especially if you have your hair and makeup done and you were looking forward to some time at the pool sunning your skin.

At any resort ask the front desk if they have any games - normally they may have coloring books, checkers/chess, deck of cards to lend, use, borrow.
BUT - the Parks are great in the rain. If it is a warm day - wear flip flops, sandels or crocks which can dry quickly. EPCOT has lots of inside activities. Even MK can be great running between the rain drops. Tour a resort - AKL and WL I think offer free tours - just ask at your resorts front desk. Ride the monorail, go to DTD or visit gift shops in all the resorts - great fun items to buy/look at which are resort related. AKL has nice wood animals, POFQ has Mardi Gras items, CR has(had a great Disney themed home goods store, YC/BC has nautical themed items, and the list goes on...... Consider the Parks - they empty out and you will have a great time on the inside rides.

I'm not sure rain would get you stranded, but a hurricane sure would!!
We were stuck in the WL during hurricane Jeanne. It was a great time!!! our trip was extended 2 days and WDW was wonderful in accommodating us all! Not so sure if it was then, but it is now the highlight of that trip! I would say, any room at a Deluxe resort, with a lobby in the same building. HTH |

Rain shouldn't keep you stranded in a resort. It rained 8 out of 11 days of our last trip - buy ponchos - where flip flops or shoes that easily dry and have fun.

When we arrived at WL last June, it was raining. Rained the whole day. Since we didn't want to go to the parks in the rain on our first day there, and our room wasn't ready yet, we walked around the resort, did the Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt (or at least tried - it's hard!), checked out the gift shop, and hung out on the couches on the various floors, and the rocking chairs by the fireplace. It was cozy, kept the kids occupied, and gave us a better understanding of the layout of the resort while we killed some time. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I had to! HTH

![]() Rain never stranded us, a tornado warning closed the monorail so we were stuck at the transportation center for a bit. The ferry was running so we went to MK. We were soaked clean through but it was August.

I would think one of the monorail resorts. You could easily go from one to the other without getting out in the elements.

I would say the best one is the Contemporary Tower, because everything is located in one building.
As for the worst one I would say that could be any of the WDW Resorts where you need to walk outside when going to you're room. |

Unless it's pouring rain, we just keep on going. On a rainy day we like to go to AK because the animals seem to move around more & Epcot becasue they have a lot of inside areas. I cannot wear flip flops on rainy days, once my feet get wet they start sliding all over the place in my flops
I usually a couple of pairs of tennis shoes. As for resorts, AKL, GF and CR would be my top 3.
