DISer chapter of NKOTB anonymous, part deux... we don't want an intervention!!!

My DD is thrilled...she's 22 and was a huge BSB fan and thinks this is wonderful...me (the Mom and the NKOTB fan, who did really enjoy BSB too) not so much..don't really want to give up half of my NKOTB set time to BSB. Oh well if they come close we'll go but like someone else said we'll have to fight for the good seats and the prices I am sure will be insanely expensive.

Ok Ok...if they DO tour and they come nearby and I have the money available when tickets go on sale...yeah, I'll probably try to go. But only for GOOOD seats. It would be rotten to have so so seats AND only get 1/2 of a NKOTB show. LOL

Will BSB be used as sort of an opening act? I'm hoping their set will be shorter and NKOTB longer. I'm sorry but NKOTB should be the headliner, not sharing with these guys. There would be no BSB if it weren't for NKOTB. Plus, there's only 4 of them now! Our guys wouldn't get back together until all 5 would agree to do it. And BSB lost the best looking one (in my opinion).

Hey ladies.
I haven't been on the thread for a while, but just thought of you guys when I heard the news on the radio today.

I am a huge NKOTB fan and an equally huge BSB fan so I was so pleased to hear they are touring together, I just hope that they come to the UK. I nearly peed my pants when I saw them onstage together in the tribute video so this really is a dream come true (guess it's my age!) my friend and I are hoping to be able to do a 5* to meet our two fave bands would be unbelieveable! I'm turning 30 in December so it will be my gift to myself!


I very much doubt that either group will be any sort of "support act" i would be dissapointed if they treated each other as anything but equal, despite what the fans may think.

I though of this post tonight while I was on the NKOTB boards reading up on the cruise info. There is a thread titled "How do I break the news to my hubby." I am absolutely astonished at how many woman booked the cruise without telling their husbands. That is a big purchase and in our house anything like that is discussed. One woman said last cruise she booked and her husband did not talk to her for a month and then sent her mean text messages while on board to try and ruin the cruise. Now I love NKOTB, but my relationship comes before them!

Geez I had a lot of catching up to do!

Elena, I hope you have so much fun on the cruise, and I can't wait to hear all about your adventures.

Really funny twist of irony, while all the online booking was going on Friday, the touring company that ran the VH1 Best Cruise Ever I was on last year sent out a save the date email. I was soooooooooo excited to see it. But they're killing us...they haven't announced any of the bands performing on it or when tickets will go on sale. I'm definitely going to be on board, though, even if I don't know a single band . Kidding, I imagine they'll have 3 big headliners just as they did last year, then 5-6 semi-popular/up and comers, and then 4-5 acts that are juuuuust breaking onto the scene. It really makes for a cool experience. Ahhhh, I'm getting excited again.

As for some of these women who let this NKOTB thing dictate every facet of their lives.... I mean, I think all of us here can say with conviction that we love those guys, but I mean, REALLY?! I went on one cruise, saw several shows, did a couple 5*...I had fun, loved the memories I made, but if you think I'm going to start spending all the money I've been saving for a down payment on a house just so I can travel the globe following a band...eh, not so much. But if it makes them happy, who am I to judge...it ain't my money or my life.

The news of the NKOTB/BSB tour was interesting. I'd be curious to see if they could get any other act to sign on board too. I'm not really sure I'd go to see that show. I never liked BSB or owned a single one of their albums. I don't have the seething hatred for BSB that some of these crazies have, but I just never cared for them. The only group other than NKOTB that I ever liked was *NSYNC. And I'm fairly certain that I got drawn to *NSYNC because JC reminded me of Jordan and Justin reminded me of Joey...it was like a consolation prize, lol.

No worries Karen! I will have to wait and "see" how the shows go before I decide to go anyway. I don't want to pay for a ticket and go if nkotb only performs an hour or less. But, if they do a long set list and prices are reasonable, maybe we can talk about going If we don't end up going, we need to take a roadtrip and do something though....I have so much fun when we go!
