Okay ladies, I was wondering if you could help me with some ideas. I found a contest being put on by one of our local news stations. The gist of it is, is that you have to decorate your garage to be a billboard advertising the concert.

Help me think what I can do that will stand out (without having to drop a ton of money on supplies preferably!)

What an awesome contest!

Hmmmm... you definitely need a giant picture from back in the day and one from now. What about saying "The boys are back... all together again on one stage" And you need Giant NKOTB or New Kids on the Block. I will keep thinking and see what else I can come up with!

The concert was great, except for the completely wasted girl sitting behind me. I watched her half the time making sure she didn't puke on me! She was so drunk she fell down the stairs! She was a mess! Her friend was ignoring her, and the cops were behind her watching her! I have to admit it took away from the show because I kept checking to make sure I was not going to get thrown up on!

But on to the show. Our seats were on the right side of the stage right in front of the platform they stand on. Pretty good seats for last minute and only $40. Funny thing is the people across the aisle from us paid double what we paid and their view was no better than ours!

The show was great! I agree that Joe's solo is great! Donnie caught a thong, which...yuck! All in all it was a great show!

Our mission for next week is to get next to stage B. I don't care if I have to stand there for the whole concert! It appeared last night it was just a free for all as far as who stood there, where as in Boston the first time you had to win it. So we're hoping that we can get up front for stage B!

Each show I have seen has been great for different reasons. Boston was great because it was my first show and I was so excited I had goose bumps! Atlantic City was great because it was an adventure driving down there and waiting at the casino all day plus we got to be 4 people from the stage. Portland was great because it was last minute fun and we were so close. (I'm sure Joe looked at me!) And Manchester next week.

Is it wrong that it will be my fourth concert since Sept? Ha ha! And we definitely plan on summer shows!

Now I can't wait to hear about the 5*!

I think it would be cute to draw a huge map of the US/Canada/Europe and do a little dotted path with a bus and plane along it to show their "route" for their tour so far and you could put a picture of them and the info on the map in the city for the concert you're entering for.

As for the summer tour... I still hope it isnt outside, it is so stinken hot here in the middle of the summer and We just dont have any good place to have a concert here outdoors. The state fair would be a nightmare. UGH I am holding out hope for the dates and venues.

I want to try and do a 5* and by the time it's my turn, my makeup will probably be running down my face!! I'm hoping for more arenas. The ampitheater we have is ok but...I just can't imagine that concert with the lawn seating and where would they put the B stage?? The seats inside don't move!

So glad you did not get thrown up on! And so happy that you got to go. Sounds like a great show. I know what you mean about each one being different. I am super excited for the one that I have coming up next month even though I just saw one!

Donnie caught a couple of bras at my show. The crowd in Hershey was kind of weak. The girls behind me were just standing there with their arms crossed and the girls in front of me left to get a beer just as the boys were taking the B Stage...which was right in front of us!! What's up with that?

I have yet another contest to enter for 5*. The other pop station in DSM is giving away a pair now. sadie is SUPER busy this week preparing for a community theather production that she is in, so this one is falling on me. I have to answer this question... Why do you want to meet NKOTB? OK, doesn't seem so hard, but I need it to be short, sweet and really catchy. Any more brilliant ideas?

Melody and Karen... have you decided if you are going to the party with the Barbie Girls in Champaign? My friend is flying in from Denver (to DSM) on the 4th and we REALLY considered driving to Champaign to go to the party and the concert. Then I snapped back to reality!!! Would have been great to meet you girls, though!!! If you are going to the party I will tell Kim and Alexis to be on the look out for you and give you a hug from me!!!

I read on the other boards that the crowds in the last couple of cities were kind of weak. I still think they booked too many shows too close together and it has affected crowd levels. Des Moines still has decent floor tickets available. They are on the Iowa/Illinois border a few days before. If they would have just left off one of those shows, then everyone would have travelled and they could have filled the arena. I think maybe they are trying to give everyone a chance to see them this time around, and the $$$ are secondary.

I agree with you guys. The crowd was a bit weak last night. There was a lot of screaming, but it wasn't as sold out as I thought it would be! But having a show in Portland and Manchester, less than two hours apart, definitely helps in making the crowds smaller!

A side note, my friend's boyfriend who was so great to buy her a ticket mentions to me at lunch the other day "I still think you girls should go on the cruise" So I told him he only needs to donate $3500 to the cause and we could go. For some reason he was not into that. Darn teacher's salaries!

There was screaming at the show I was at but it would die out the second they left the stage for a costume change. I guess I'm used to shows around the NYC area. The show at MSG, the crowd drowned the boys out during some songs!! I'm hoping the sales don't affect their decision to do a summer tour.

I think it was like that last night too. A much calmer vibe. I was surprised how many people were walking around during the concert. But, last show I saw was in AC, and once you were in the GA section you didn't leave! Those girls were brutal and would not let you back!

I was surprised by the number of men there last night. I love DH but it would be a total waste of money to bring him!

And how can he suggests we go...and then not pay for it? I was shocked! When I told DH about what he said he immediately said he needs to call him so that her boyfriend will run things by him before he makes these outlandish suggestions! Ha ha!
