They usually do, and considering the economy, they pretty much would have to.
Not to mention, if Pete is mentioning it, it's not just for DV.
Whether DV or gen. public gets it on the 30th, who knows.

Ok so we will hear something whether it be Disney Visa Cardholders only or general public by March 29th - which is a Sunday. Hmmmmm.....

So going on the theory that it will be made official on Mar 29 and booking opn to GP Mar 30th....we would know Mar 29 what the start and end date of the promo would be right?

Sunday seems like a weird day for a big announcement like that but I will tell you I will be camped out here watching for the details.

I would be shocked if it went general public on a Monday.
If that is the case they might not be giving advance notice to DV holders.

The 4/3 sale doesn't end until 3/29. I'm pretty sure they won't overlap, even with DV holders.

That being said, I hope your right!

Can you still do free dining if you are staying using DVC points and have APs, or is it only if you book a package deal?

I couldn't stand waiting any more so I called a TA to book my vacation. She is hearing the same rumor and I would rather her get up earlyon Monday than take off work. So I am now booked and hopefully will have fd by next week. I'm so excited. I usually don't do the agent thing but decided to let someone else do all the work. Used Magic for Less after seeing them mentioned on this thread. Hopefully this was the smart thing to do.

I'm so excited, too!! So here is a question, have had my vacation booked through AAA for a couple of months now, put my TA there on alert for this but she probably doens't come to work until 9! And the phone lines are up at 7 a.m......should I call and book another package through Disney??? Or just wait? This is the first time I haven't had complete control of my trip and now I'm starting to panic!! Help!!!

Talk to your TA. Mine doesn't start work till 1:30 but assured me she would be up and calling the day the offer starts. Remember they don't have to go to an office to do this so she may already be prepared for that.

Ok stupid question from someone who has never booked a vacation before. I have my package already set up- what is the number I'm going to have to call to have FD added when it is available? Is it the main number on the website that helps in pricing? Thanks!

The free dining promo has always been offered at the value resorts. As for "fillin up," yes some resorts will "run out" of free dining rooms. Each resort is only allotted so many rooms for this promotion. Pop and All-Star Movies always book up first, then Port Orleans Riverside, then All-Star Music. I remember in 2007 Wilderness Lodge had very limited availability and they sold out of fd rooms within the first two days. I guess it will depend on how many rooms they need to fill up, but it's a pretty good bet POP, ASM and POR will go quickly.

how quickly are we talking? i finish work at 5pm UK time, thats midday EST. will i have a problem waiting until i get home and then booking it? i'm aiming for POP but i'll take any of values really, i'm not that bothered about which hotel i'll get.
will i have a problem getting a room as long as i book on the first day it becomes available to the general public?
