OK, I know this question has been asked before. But, I just want to make sure. If I call to book a room on a 40%off pin code, but the free dining comes out (which would be better for our large group), I can call back and ask the CM to change it to the free dining plan offer and they will do this, right?

We have gone the last three years and have stayed at Poly each time but decided for a chance this year. I picked CBR b/c its the closest to Poly in theme (tropical, beachy). I hear good things about it so I hope its good. Have you booked already? I am just waiting for free dining to appear so I can book

My AAA lady told me she would keep watch for free dining and let me know and she would put my room back to the regular price and book me for free dining..so, I am praying that will help me save more $$$$ By taking the free dining and not the 40% pin code I will save over $150....we are going Aug. 25-31

Unfortunately, I don't think its quite that easy. The resort and room type have to be available under the free dining promotion, and from what I understand, they actually cancel and rebook you. So let's say you have a WL standard view booked under the 40% PIN....that same room type would have to be available as part of the FD deal. Just because you have that room type reserved already doesn't mean they can just "switch" deals on the existing reservation.

Please don't take this as rude, but I don't think ANYONE really knows EXCEPT Disney executives. Unless she's a CM with inside connections she's guessing like the rest of us. She's probably using last years dates as a guide.

The last time I went to my travel agent I knew a LOT more about Disney than she did. She hadn't been to WDW in years. She could tell me a lot more about nearly every OTHER place though. I've never been to Vegas, and don't plan to, and she knew all about it.

I tend to agree with you. Unless you work for WDW in a high level position, you don't know what promotions are coming. On the flipside of that- the buy 4, get 3 ends on 8/15. That would be a great lead in to free dining.

I think the friend who is a travel agent is basing their thoughts on what happened last year.
thats what I am basing my "thoughts" on.
4/3 runs until 8/15 and they are not gonna go back to back promotions

- I am gonna say August 23 thru Sept 19th.

About 2 years ago I remember discussing the same topic issue on another board and that travel agent might be right especially if she already sees sign of changes in her booking system.

Looking at what has happened in the past (which, I know is no indication). This is from Mousesavers historical dates:

8/10/08-9/27/08 package discount ("free dining") for UK residents
8/24/08-9/20/08 package discounts ("free dining") for Disney Rewards® Visa® Cardholders

2 weeks apart

8/2/09-10/3/09 package discount ("free dining") for UK residents

2 weeks later would be 8/16

Let's hope I'm right!!!

if this is right....would the end date be 9/27? We will be there 9-19-09 through 9-25-09........
