Can I join the fun? We're going July 17-24 and can't wait!!
We went to WDW for the first time in July 2007. We stayed at POP and really enjoyed it, but with the 40% military discount we're going to stay at CBR this time. We wanted to go in April this year but it didn't work out, so July it is. (At least we know what to expect in terms of heat and dealing with it!) We did the dining plan last time and really enjoyed it but decided not to this time. We just don't eat enough food to make it worth $160+ per day for seven days! It was more worth it last time we went when it included appetizers and tip...plus cost less. But really, it was way more food than we ever needed to eat and we found ourselves some days thinking we'd rather not eat so much. LOL Instead, each of us will pick one restaurant we really, really want to go to, and the rest of the time we'll do counter service. We aren't big breakfast eaters, so we'll eat breakfast most days in the room before we head out to the parks. My parents are going with us (military tickets) but will only be in the parks with us on Saturday, July 18. They will leave to go home on Sunday, July 19. We have 5 day park hopper tickets plus water park. We'll drive down on Friday, July 17, probably arriving around 9 p.m. or so. Saturday, July 18 -- I'm still trying figure out the best plan. My Mom doesn't do rides but enjoys shows, shopping, and sightseeing. I'm thinking that Epcot and DHS are probably the best bets for her. We may end up splitting up, with my Dad, DH, and our girls doing rides and Mom and I doing shows and shopping. I haven't decided yet. Sunday morning we'll go to church with my parents (I need to find an LDS church in the area with morning meetings -- anyone know of any?). They'll leave after lunch that day and drive home. We'll go sightseeing around the various resorts -- no parks for us this day. So any suggestions for sightseeing around the various resorts would be great -- we didn't have time to do any of that on our last trip. We'll do the parks Monday through Friday, with one of those days being the water parks. I haven't decided which water park yet, though. I need to work on that. As far as ADRs, we know for sure we want to go to 'Ohana for dinner on Saturday with my parents. We loved it last time (I got several of the recipes and they are now favorites at our house) and I know my parents will enjoy it. On Sunday, we'll probably eat at CBR. The only other restaurant we know for sure we want to go to is Coral Reef -- we loved it last time we went and our girls can't wait to go back. The reviews I've seen for Yak and Yeti look good, so we might try that one. And I think DH wants to go to Biergarten (he's German and never gets to eat German food). I'm open to restaurant suggestions. Our girls aren't the slightest bit interested in character dining. They are pretty adventurous eaters -- they love Japanese food, Greek food... I need to get the ADRs all figured out in time to actually make the ADRs! At any rate, we're just excited to be going back again!!!

HI everyone,
My mom and I are going to Disney July 7-14. We are staying at the WL for our stay. This will be my mom's first visit!!!! I don't know what number for me. It is going to be a mother/daughter trip. We try and take one each year. We wanted to get the dining plan but we are going as a cast members guest during our stay so we may or may not have the option of adding on the dining. It all depends what cast members are offered during our stay. I just have to call each week to check!! We are planning to have a character meal every day. We hope to have dinner at CRT one evening. Mom wants to mee the mice!!! We are also doing Mickey's Back Yard BBQ. This is a new one for me but mom reallys wants to do this dinner. Anyone ever done this??? I have enjoyed reading about everyone's trip!!! |
