better than mickey mail ?! ...

Hi everyone,

such sad news about the monorail train.. from what i've read so far, there were only a few people on each train, as it was at 2am

on a happier note...

it's 4 days til my vacation!! i cannot believe it's so soon, feels like i'm dreaming

got an amazing surprise yesterday... the postman delivered a HUGE box for me, when i opened it i found this.. it's from my sister! (she is a mad disney fan too, we are going to wdw together in Dec'09)

and inside, lots of little packages, wrapped in tinkerbell paper! ...

i cried a little, she is the cutest sister

hope all of you in the USA had a lovely July 4th yesterday (we don't celebrate it in England... we lost quite a big colony i believe !)

Barbie, that is a beautiful gift box! I'm jealous I'll look for you wearing that t-shirt when we are near the YC!

It's the reason why we are going to the CR.

I'd also be very upset.
It figures, as it is probably the only time in my life I'll ever get to stay at a monorail resort

I am, however, much more sorry to the family and friends of the driver.

I have heard that the busses at the Grand Floridian stink, so now I am wondering if my next step should be to rent a car. Any thoughts?

It sounds like the monorail up at MK is still running. Maybe it is just he monorail from the TTC to Epcot that is not running. I would not rent a car - I am sure they will add extra busses from the TTC or resorts to Epcot. I would also think they would get it back in operation asap.

Horrible Disney News

I just heard that a monorail at Disney crashed last night and the driver was killed. The monorails have now been shut down until further notice. Buses only. OMG.. I feel really bad for the driver and his/her family. I also am distressed that the buses now will be REALLY crowded.

They said this is the first time a monorail has EVER crashed! What is going on?? The DC metro crashed last week and people were killed. These trains just never crash!! At least not til the world went crazy!!

I guess they will have to put busses to Epcot at CR, GF and Poly because, from what I understand, they don't have any.

It is what it is. It's still Disney.

My guess (& it is just a guess) is that none of the trains will be running until the determine what caused this accident, as they all run on the same system. If it was human error they will be back sooner but if it was a error within the system or in the train itself it may take months. I am sure that Disney is doing what ever it needs to to get people safely to the parks from the resorts that the monorails served.

We all may need to remember that it is for our safety and be happy that we were not on the train last night.

Lois is right. It took a couple weeks, and they determined that the cause of the DC train crash was a system error and that the driver had applied the break and the fail safe failed. And they're still running the trains. However, Disney is alot stricter about safety than anything in DC.

Here's one for you. Halfway through church, Mom is holding Sophie. She turns and looks at me, and whispers - "She doesn't have any panties on!" I was so caught up in reading about the monorail this morning, I forgot my child's undies! Thank goodness I had a pair in the "church bag"!

So I ask do you want Janet and I to call and remind you to completely dress the children before you head out to Chef Mickey on the 11th.
