Yes, in fact, two summers ago there was a Friday night when the MK was open until midnight AND had evening EMH. We thought it would be a perfect time to go.....NOT! We had dinner at Chef Mickeys, walked around the MK for hours and I don't think we got on one ride. We finally gave up around 1:30/2:00. I was also amazed at the amount of children in the parks after midnight. But if you are willing to get up for it, morning EMH has always been very beneficial to us.

My question today is do the crowds lessen after 6PM at the parks without the EMH? Can we count on having lower crowds between 9 and 11AM and 6PM and close? If so we can do the shows during the hottest part of the day and the rides when things are just a tiny bit slower. What do those of you who have gone in July think?

I think you can count on the crowds being a little lower from 9-11 AM as long as there is no EMH's in the morning. Even though a given park isn't having EMH's in the evening, I have never noticed the crowds at night thinning out that much until much later in the evening. I think people want to stay in the park more after the sun goes down on a very hot day.

I agree. The parks are just as crowded in the evening as they were in the afternoon. However, during the parades/shows the lines to the rides are much shorter. I love going to MK during the night parade ( sorry dont know the name) and walk on splash mountain and BTMR and ride three or four times with very little wait times!

and even if the parks ARE crowded, it just doesn't feel so bad without the hot sun beating down on you. ALSO count on a late afternoon thunderstorm. That really helps cool things off.

That I am aware of. Some time between 3 and 4 PM you can expect 30min to one hour of rain. We bring the cheap (89 cent) rain ponchos and carry them in a backpack. They are light and small. If we need them we have them and can toss them out once it stops. Worked really well. You can find them in the discount and hardware stores. We buy one for each day for everyone or close too it. I think we have like 12 left from last year.

We'll be there starting July 8th for 6 nights, staying at CBR. It's our first trip! We're driving from OK, making a road trip out of it with a few stops on the way and back.

Good to see others are braving the heat to go in July! We're from OK, so we're used to hot summers.

If I remember correctly you posted that this is your first trip to WDW. What do you want to do first? What ride do you think you want to ride the most? Let though of us who have been before help you plan. Please ask any questions you may have but understand that you may recieve several different answers as we travel at different time and our experences may be different. I feel the more information I have to prepare for my trip the better perpared I will be to cope with whatever is thrown my way. That could be heat, crowds, rides being closed but if I have information in advance then I can make alternative decisions with ease.
