Applebees? They couldn't even keep a McDs in DTD, had to find some South American company. And if you can find dinner for two for $20 at DTD (other than Earl of Sandwich or the disappearing e coli cart), please let me know where.

It sounds pretty clear that Disney is quite content to let nightlife and dancing go to Citywalk....so I doubt that whatever comes will have any of those.
Maybe a Raglan Road type spot with a bit of entertainment but I wouldn't expect much beyond that.

Mahogany Bay Classic Old Boats & Good Food is the name of one of the new restaurants coming to PI. That's just the current working name; it may change. See breaking news at: www.savepleasureisland.blogspot.com

A themed restaurant...to go with the other...themed restaurants? I've been to Rainforest Cafe over there once, Planet Hollywood once, and have no desire to head back to either. Fultons has gone downhill with their selections, and I can get a few of Raglan Road's options (my favorites) at Rose & Crown. Downtown Disney's eateries are pretty much a miss for me. I'd rather have the clubs back.

It's a real shame what happened in Downtown Disney. Pleasure Island used to apparently be VERY popular with the clubs because thats where the local cast members would to party. I sadly never got to experience any of the clubs as i never went to Disney till 2006 and was underage at the time.
I think House of Blues will be FULL on a sunday night because its free entry for Cast Members, otherwise they either go to Downtown or City walk. I personally only ever see me going back to DTD for maybe the Cinema. Most mercy in the shops can be found in the Parks, and the restaurants hardly set the world on fire. HATE Dinosaur Cafe and that chain of restaurants. Surprised they don't even make a club for young kids to party in with characters or something like that. |

Yeah, more bland tasting food in a loud surrounding so you don't notice the bland tasting food.

Meh. Looks like nothing that will excite me (or many others). I'm with so many others...I'll never understand getting rid of the Adventurer's Club. All the other clubs...no big deal. I can find the exact same types of places here in NYC or almost anywhere else. But there is nothing like the AC anywhere. I can't see why they can't find a spot for it in the re-configured Downtown or on the Boardwalk or somewhere else in the World. |
