TDO overvalued their real estate, and misjudged what their audience wants. Pure and simple. |

wonder if this will be the proper announcement, rather than that stupid web thingy a few weeks ago where they re-revealed stuff that was announced 2 years ago like the two new DCL ships etc! |

City Walk's profits had to have skyrocketed once PI closed. That was one of the best things that happened for them, IMO.
For those of us not City Walk people, Pointe Orlando looks like a decent replacement. They also have a comedy club (Orlando Improv), and BB King's is right there with entertainment too. Seems like a lot in that area. |

Possibly, but City Walk has always been pretty stable and busy and it doesn't have any issues bringing in people with money, just look at Valet towards the club hours...Ferrari's, Lamborghinis, etc...

Pleasure Island is one big waste now IMO. Did we really need more stores? It just shows a tremendous lack of imagination. Here's hoping some thing better comes along.

I can not wait since Pleasure Island and Epcot
is where my husband and I generally hang out. It would be great to see some new things for adults. We often go to the wine and cigar bar before we head to dinner at the House of Blues. |

From the chatter I'm hearing, there will a name change to something nautical and the entire Island theme will be nautical-related. A nautical-themed restaurant will go where Rock'n'Roll Beach Club now stands. Another rumor has a lighthouse design fast food restaurant and bar with outdoor seating on the water near where Beach Club and Motion come together. I'm unsure whether this is part of the nautical-themed restaurant or a completely separate operation because they're from separate rumors.

$3.6M in lighting! Can't assume all of that is outdoors, perhaps some of that is going into former dance clubs that will reopen in a new manner. http://savepleasureisland.blogspot.c...ting-dots.html BobK/Orlando |
