DJ Lexus, was the PI Live DJ up in the normal PI Live booth or did they have him playing from a table in front of Soundstage?

There are lots of little signs that something is about to happen out on Pleasure Island. And if they just refurbished the huge PLEASURE ISLAND sign atop the Mannequins/8TRAX building, it's a safe bet that that building is NOT going to be torn down.

Now that I think about it, I sorta do remember 2 different songs playing at the same time, so maybe there was a DJ around AC and I just didn't realize it.

We were at ESPN Weekend and saw Sugar Snap (as a cheerleader) and Blade (the CM who reminds me of Ryan Stiles). He played the part of an avid sports fan.
DH also ran the ESPN 5K yesterday morning and saw Blondie playing the part of an avid fan.
Usually we sit through at least one show of AIE just to see which judge is a past CW/AC cast. Passed on that though.
Now if we could only see them as Sugar Snap, Graves and Otis. (Although I loved it when Blondie and Blade were the two Graves. Those were the days....)

What it means, I have no idea, but it certainly says the place is continuing to be used at some point. I have been watching down there just to see if they actually put the motion sign back up given the event going on this weekend being held at "motion on PI"

Well, no, sadly I'm not reporting the reopening of the Pleasure Island clubs. But, if you are really missing Motion, there's a way to revisit that club tonight and tomorrow -- and help a good organization.

Disney's Encore! cast choir and orchestra is presenting a cabaret fundraiser in Motion tonight (Friday, Feb. 27) and tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 28) at 8 p.m. Encore! is not official Disney entertainment; it's a group of cast members who put together shows on their own time. Generally, the Encore! members don't make their full-time living singing for Disney -- they work in other capacities around the parks -- so you can be even more amazed at how deep the talent pool runs in Theme Park Land.

I've caught a few Encore! shows over the years, and they have never failed to impress. One year, a woman's rendition of "On My Own" from Les Miserables made me a little teary, but of course I'm a well-known sap.

Tickets are $15, cash only, and because it's a fund-raiser, you are of course welcome to donate more.

The theme of the cabaret is "Tales of the Heart: A Musical Cabaret Showcasing Some of Broadway's Greatest Love Songs."

Hm, I'd better bring some Kleenex.

Some family members of mine are leaving for Disney this Thursday. I let them know that Pleasure Island has closed and they were a bit upset. My question is can you still walk through the area or is it blocked off? Does the Disney busses still stop at the Pleasure Island bus stop? Just want to let them know how to get from the Marketplace to the Westside. Thanks a bunch.

It is definitely still open for walking through. Only the clubs are closed.

and no the PI bus stop is not used. I believe they changed to using the west end one now

The PI bus stop is still active. I believe it was closed for some renovations immediately after the PI clubs closed (not positive about that) but it is definitely in use as of this past weekend.

that must have been what I was thinking of then. My fault!
now everyone please go take their surveys so they GET THE HINT that people are wondering aimlessly wondering what on earth happened to PI.

On that note, spring break crowd is starting to pick up already. I had multiple people at atlantic dance asking what happened to PI. There were many many people who expressed their disgust at Disney management. I'll note I did not entice them, these people said it on their own.

CityWalk has overall gotten a bit better since PI people migrated over there but it's still a pale comparison to what Pleasure Island used to be. No one can do it like Disney can! But Disney needs to do it!!

yeah, you're exactly right. Hopefully universal will take my survey comments seriously and revisit the idea of a techno night. These guys were just "lookin for chicks" so the groove on a saturday night is the perfect Motion replacement for them.

They kept asking me if I bring hot girls home from the club. I wanted to say no, but I'd love to take you home and just shock the hell outta them. Why am I only quick witted when I am not allowed to speak my mind!


I have a feeling that for the next month and a half, there will be lots of aimless people wondering around PI and those that make their way to Atlantic Dance will constantly ask "so does this place get busy" or "when is the best night" to which my answer is "It's hit and miss, it's hit and miss, no go write a letter that you want PI back"
