Nervous Poly Newbie. Did I forget anything?
Dh and I thought we were splurging when we booked POFQ and to find ourselves suddenly staying at the Poly is, well, probably going to be our only shot ever at staying in a deluxe. We're so thrilled. I requested no smoking (kid with allergies) but thought I would fax a request for something near the pool with patio or balcony. We can't check in until after 4 pm, so I'm only slightly hopeful that they'll be able to grant anything but the non-smoking.
Of course, I've poured over these boards and any posted links about the Poly. I want this stay to be great because I probably won't ever get back, but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. Let me know, though, is there anything else I need to before I get there? Any special tips you veterans might have for me? Oh, and how quickly can one grab a bagel or something at Trader Jack's in the morning? Might have to adjust my wake-up times on my spreadsheet!

Okay now.....take a really deep breath....exhale....there, don't you feel better? I would make sure your reservation states that you have to have non-smoking for medical reasons. My dd had this same problem and I don't want an ashtma attack three days into our trip. We made sure it says 'medical reasons' on the reservation. Other than that, go ahead and request something near the pool with a balcony. If you don't get exactly what you want...hey, you're in WDW at the Polynesian. How bad could it be?? We are going in Aug and it will be our last big family trip and we are splurging on the Polynesian. I have made similar requests to yours. I figure it doesn't hurt to make a request but if I don't get the 'perfect' room, then the room I do get will probably end up being perfect in my memories of our visit!! Have a ball. Don't forget to post when you get back and let us all know how it went. I love hearing about other's trips, espcecially to the Polynesian.

Yep, confirmation says "no smoking, child with allergies", so now I just need to take that deep breath, send in my request at the appointed hour, and hope. No matter what, everything will be great. It's a Disney deluxe, after all.
By the way, the tikiman site is really fabulous.
