Prologue:

It all started with my solo trip last December. On my last night, I attended the Christmas Party where I met DISer MadiMouse, her husband and baby girl.

After watching a Christmas show together, I was ready to split from them so they could enjoy family time together. I was then informed that I, the internet stranger WAS part of the family and would be with them for the remainder of the evening. We had a great time together! When it was time to leave the park, I REALLY got sad as it sank in that she lived in Atlanta, and I lived in Baltimore. But then I felt a little silly for being so sad over someone I'd just met a few hours ago.

That night she called me after getting back to the room, and admitted that she too was sad and a bit teary at our departure. As a result, her husband suggested that we take a weekend together, leaving him and the baby at home! WHAAAT???? I couldn't believe it! Well sure enough, by February, the plans were made. We were going the weekend of my Birthday!!!



After the plans were set, a real friendship began. We talked on the phone at least 3 times a week, and emailed even more. The closer we got to our trip, the more excited we became, and we couldn't believe that it all started with the internet!

Getting There:
I had to work all week before going that Friday - getting off at 8am that Friday morning, running home to finish packing, then off to the airport.

MadiMouse and I decided to fly in on Friday afternoon, June 6th. Her Delta flight would arrive about an hour before mine with Southwest, and she was going to wait for me at the airport. When I arrived at BWI airport in Baltimore, I was informed that my flight was delayed by 45mins.

Fortunantly when we boarded - I had position A23 - I was able to get the emergency row with extra leg room! The plane was very cold and for the first time I had to ask for a BLANKET! Since I can't sleep on planes (even though I had just gotten off of work at 8am that morning), I wanted to take notes. Guess what? I'd left my note pad home, AND I had no pen! I thought my DISer membership would be removed! Well, I ended up reading an article in the Spirit magazine by Sarah Hepola called "Travel Solo". She started her trips when she was 25, much to the confusion of her parents. But she found the trips very freeing, and it built-up her self-confidence. The article was great and encouraged me to take solo trips to other places.

Finally, I landed at MCO about 40mins late. After a few calls to MadiMouse (MM), I spotted her. I started running to her in S L O W motion! She was cracking up! As we made our way to Magical Express, she handed me this gift!

It's a Cinderella photo holder! I LOVE Cinderella! MM informed that she wanted to take funny pics like LaMaigique did in her report. And believe me we did!

When we got to the Magical Express Counter, it wasnt crowded at all.













Finally, our vacation was about to begin!!!!

Arrival Day:

After we got settled on the ME bus to French Quarter, MadiMouse (MM) openned the gift bag I gave her. Of course it was Lime Green!!! In it was a set of fun Disney PJs, Disney Pillowcases, and glow jewerly. And OF COURSE I bought the identical stuff for myself! HA!





We were so excited on the bus! Especially as we started to get closer!!!

Finally, we arrived at French Quarter! It was like comming home!



MM and I did a split stay: she paid for 2 nights at FQ, and I did 2 nights at AKV. I didnt have enuf points to do all 4 nights there. When we checked in at FQ, we asked the CM LuLu, if she could get us a room close to the bus stop. (I'd fallen down the stairs in my house and my foot was sore ) Well, Lulu HOOKED US UP!!!! Not only were we going to be close to the stop, but on the first floor!!! She also gave me a Happy Bday Pin!!!!



I LOVE Birthday attention, so I was STOKED!!!

We made our way to the room, and was VERY pleased!

After checking out the room, we headed to the food court. I got a veggie sandwhich, chips, water and cheesecake. The sandwhich was good, not great, but I would get it again. The cheesecake and chips were really good. I was immediately disappointed that they no longer serve Pecan Pie!





We we finished eating, we went back to the room so MM could change and go to Magic Kingdom (MK). I decided that I would go with her, but as soon as I got tired, would leave her so I wouldn't drop dead of exhaustion!

We got to MK around 6:30. It was sooooo hot that I think my deoderant jumped off my underarms and ran back on the shuttle bus as we entered the park! There were sooooo many people - well, let me qualify that - there a lot of people compared to what I'm used to. We were soooo excited to be there though, and I couldnt believe that I was actually STILL awake!





We rode just a few rides, including Buzz. While in line I called MeMom!







We saw a Newlywed couple!






Ok, in the picture above, you see the kids behind me? Well, this started the string of RUDE things that happened throughout our trip. I hope this doesn't spark a bunch of negativity on my report, but I'm going to tell what happend during our trip anyway!

Now, when I stood there to take the pic, there was NO ONE there. When a family with kids saw me, they started to even put their kids in front of me, then got them to squeeze in the bars behind me so they could take their pic! WHAAAT???!!!! So I just stood there in the middle, with my hand on my hip, blocking the kids so I could get the pic! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!!!!!

MM rode Space Mountain, while I very patiently waited for her. There was NO WAY I was getting on that!!!







Later we rode Haunted Mansion and Thunder Mountain. On the way out of the park, MM treated me to a Dole Whip! We had to fight the crowds watching Spectro to leave the park. We got back to the room around 10pm.

That night I didnt sleep well at all! I guess that's what happends when you've been up for 24 hrs, and try to sleep when you're normally at work!

awesome... so sorry I missed you guys.... but I had Sarah with me and we only had 48 hours to do 4 parks... LoL just like you I just finished the 1st park report which was half a day!! but I did not make a trip report.. i include it in my pre trip for Sept 2008 under the "all about me label"

The food looks good. I spotted some of those delicious beignets already.

I remember the phone call. I believe it included the phrase, "It is sooooo hot!"... more than once. I hope the heat wave has toned down a degree or two by the time we get there on Saturday.

hey, glenda! i lurked on your other TRs but i'm openly coming along for the ride on this one! erica and i (vandyfan10) are doing a girls' trip in september, so i'm anxious to see how yours went! i live in georgia near cas and SOMEDAY she and i will meet up for lunch! i keep promising her we will and it never works out. i'm looking forward to it now since i saw your video on ME and she looks like a nut!!! i expected nothing less!

YAY!!! I am soo excited for a Gmax TR! Ive read all the others after they were completed, but this one I can resad as it goes! How fun to DIS'er girl's trip!
