Nikon Introduces the New D5200

http://www.dpreview.com/news/2012/11...es-nikon-d5200

Nikon has introduced the D5200 mid-level APS-C camera. It has the 24mp CMOS sensor with the AF system of the higher level D7000. It has some nice features for you Nikon/future-Nikon shooters. If this is the same Sony sensor that Sony introduced a short time ago, it has a reputation (?) of a little bit more noise in the higher ISO range than its 16mp predecessor. The pricing and availability have not yet been released.

I'll be watching for real-life reviews of this new camera. Currently have the D5100.

Just wondering if anybody has heard any update on the US release date. I get a feeling it will be after the holidays, but wonder just how much later.

Not sure if Sonys noise issue is sensor related, or solely due to their translucent mirror.

This was posted yesterday. Basically is a Hong Kong company. They are well known for their humorous and snarky photography reviews on youtube. Anyways it's $859 with free US shipping.

Just checked the Nikon USA website and they are showing the 5200. SRP is $899 with a 18-55 lens.

I'll be interested to see what typical selling prices are. I'm sure it will be near MSRP to start with.
