The lady at DTD questioned me in depth about where I got the ticket, insinuating, I felt, that I had stolen it. I also advised her that UT is a legitimate ticket broker for Disney. She then proceeded to have me tell her where I went EVERY SINGLE DAY of my 9 night trip; which I was able to with no problem. BUT, when she made me continue doing that in front of everyone after the fifth day of the vacation . . . I was more than a little miffed. We aren't all thieves.

As for being banned from Disney . . . that would be so sad.

I believe it was last year where there were some pretty insane stories of people trying to upgrade UT tickets and basically being told how they were ripping of Disney, they couldn't be upgraded, etc. One even said that UT wasn't an authorized reseller, which was completely untrue.

Unfortunately some CMs seem to have a problem with it.

Members of the Canadian band The Johnstones have been banned from Disney property. Here is a quote from an interview:

“We were down in Hollywood to play some shows,” recalls Johnstones’ trombonist Julian Warmè, “We went to the House of Blues where they had a Karaoke night going. We did a Barenaked Ladies’ song and were a bit drunk- more obnoxious than usual. And then we were asked to leave. All of a sudden some security guards and cops come up, angrily, saying ‘Tell us what you did!?!’…After two or three hours, sitting in handcuffs, in the cold, they said ‘don’t bother coming back’ this was about 4am. And that’s how we were banned from Disneyland.”

I really enjoy their music

I believe all your information is loaded into the Disney computer system and if your last name comes up on anyone's reservation there probably will be issues.
I was a witness one time to people being advised that if they did not abide by the instructions given they would be escorted to their resort, waited for and led off of the property by Disney security and law enforcement officers.
Was quite interesting how quickly their attitude changed.

Similar issue on tickets......

This past June my wife and my daughter went to the MK - I decided to skip the park and play Golf. My wife, by accident, pulled my 10 day Park Hopper out (which was purchased at a resort the year prior) put it in the machine. They stopped her and walked her over to the Ticket Police so she could be interrogated.

She explained the mistake and apologized, and, showed her ID (same last name as mine) and the pass she meant to use. She had our DVC Membership cards and OKW Resort Reservation that had my name on it. In fact, if I remember correctly the Reservation paperwork has our home address on it - which matches up with the address on her Drivers License. Anyways, not good enough proof in their eyes.

Questions: When did he buy it? What parks has he gone too? My wife was incensed - she said they made her feel like a criminal.

They told her they were keeping the card and I needed to come to the park and show ID. Had I been required to make a special trip to the MK - trust me - I would be banned for life now!

She finally suggested that they call DVC Member Services and they can confirm that we are married (as both our names are on the contract), she will have them verify both of our SSN numbers (which they have) and confirm that we are staying in the same room at OKW. 5 minutes later they agreed to give her the card - but - block it from use. Anyways - 30 minutes wasted dealing with them.

Unfortunately she did not think of getting the CM's names.

The next morning we went to the OKW Front Desk and explained the situation. They took the card in the back. 20 Minutes later - no card. I asked to see the manager. My blood was starting to boil - so - I made a quick exit to the pool.

The manager finally came out and talked to my wife. She described the incident and said - I think I am owed an apology. The manager was very nice and said: "I apologize on their behalf. If you ever, have a problem like this in the future - stop discussing with them - simply call us - let us deal with them!"

So, What else can get you banned for?
In the case of a DVC owner that is real estate that is owned by the party who has been tresspassed. Disney cannot tresspass a person from their own property so the restriction would exclude the DVC resort(s) where that person owns property.

Disney will cooperate in the prosecution of criminal events. Simply having a gun is not a crime as long as you have the proper carry permits and registration. All firearms are to be declared prior to entering the parks and placed in Orange County Sherriff's on site gun safe. Threatening people with said firearm will get the prompt attention of security and OC sherriff.

Unfortunately Disney is unable to ban child molesters on principle; even registered offenders until they do something that gets the attention of security. If they do anything inappropriate, they can be tresspassed.

Disney takes the comfort and safety of all their guests seriously and will not tolerate guests who infringe on either. They will make every attempt to work with individuals who are escalating to a dangerous or uncomfortable situation until the line is crossed that the situation cannot be calmly and quitely contained. Being disorderly (and not just those who are intoxicated,) causing an altercation, even excessively unruly children can be ejected from the park or other programs. This may not always result in being given a tresspass warning but the incident is documented.

Disney has a database complete with pictures of tresspassed persons. Security is given a notice about the incident and all security personel are supposed to review the database on a regular basis. It is difficult to remember every single person's face so it would be possible that these people could get on property as long as they aren't recognized.

It's a math algorhtym based on the imagery of the finger.. that is very loose and the way it's currently done, it's only unique to about one in 1000 people. So.. it wouldn't work to identify previously banned people.

I will have to tell me DD this. She always has a fit about her fingerprint being saved. She says it is unconstitutional. Sometimes a wonder where she comes from. It is one finger at DW, oh and Universal.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #14, you can get a lot more information about the scans. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

I agree with the person who said that banning people who did something in their childhood or teen years is a little harsh. And some of the things that get you banned don't seem to warrant a lifetime ban, I think a 10 year ban would be more appropriate.

When I was doing the College Program in 1997, I worked on the WDW Railroad. I was a conductor (best job at WDW as far as I'm concerned! ).

Anyway most of the engineers were older men, most had been train enthusiasts for their whole lives, retired, moved to Florida, got a job at DW, and worked their way up to engineer. It was not an easy job to get...

There was this one weird local kid who kept dressing up like an engineer and hanging around the train platform. Guests would ask him questions and he just started acting like he worked there. Each time he was asked to leave, but he would show up a week or so later.

After 3 or 4 times of this, he was banned and we never saw him again.

We are not so far away from technology solving this - companies are already producing face detection systems that recognize faces and send them texts to alert them to discounts / promotions.

I wonder if Disney has looked in to that? Not sure they would tell anyone as these systems has opponents.

All a person would have to do is either grow or cut their hair, grow or shave facial hair(for men & a few women), and wear glasses or shades. You look the opposite of what you did when the picture was taken. If you get someone else to buy you a ticket and act like you actually belong there, you would probably be ok.

Actually, it is much worst.... You are supposed to declare it and lock it up in their safe once you come on to property. Because Disney (and Universal) are BATFE FEL properties (exempting them from Florida Statue 790.251) you can't even have the firearm in your vehicle that is parked on any Disney (or Universal) parking lot. BATFE FEL is a federal license to use and maintain explosives. They will ask you to lock it up in their safe, if you don't they will toss you. No muss no fuss, good buy.

Just in case anybody was interested....
