Oh, and I know The Princess and the Frog is premiering while we are on board. Has anyone been cruising when another film has premiered? Apart from seeing it I was hoping for an exclusive pin or something

Hi to everyone!

Since I'm new to the group here is a little about me and my family. My DH (Ryan), DD (Madalyn) age 6 and myself will be sailing on our third cruise (as a family). DH and I sailed (less the DD) in November 2004 for the first time (after 2 prior cancellations) for my 30th birthday. We loved the Magic so much we bought into the Disney Vacation Club on that cruise.

We are huge Disney fans, I'm a lifetime Mickey lover and huge Beauty and the Beast fan, DH was a Pooh fan as a child and DD loves Hannah Montana, Wizards and Suite Life. She used to be into the Princess big time, but not so much now.

It would be great to met up with other families with children around our DD's age.

Not sure what else to post. Hope everyone has a great time and arrives at the port safely. We'll be driving in from Pennsylvania.

Would anyone know if football games are really shown in Diversions on Sundays or during the week? My DH and I are Steelers fans and of course the week we are sailing they have a Thursday night game. Normally I wouldn't care since I'm taping it at home, but its a divisional game.

I heard (please correct me if I'm wrong) that we can watch the games on the ship, sometimes on the big screen on deck.

The Sunday game against the Raiders probably won't be too exciting. I'm looking forward to the game against the Browns. Not sure why, since other teams give us a more exciting game. As for hockey, we don't start watching that until the Steelers season is over. Go Pens!

Yes, games are shown. Last year I saw some Sunday games on the "Dumbotron" and Monday Night Football was in Diversions. They had a good crowd of Steeler fans for the Steelers/Redskins. I don't know how they will handle Thursday night game. If it is not on ABC/ESPN it might be an issue.

Hi again everyone,

I didn't have much time last night, so I wanted to say hello again. This will be my hubby and my 6th cruise, and our 5th for our oldest DD. We've also cruised on Royal Caribbean, NCL and Princess and Disney is for sure our favorite. My hubby grew up minutes from Orlando and so the Mouse is a part of both of our lives!! I obviously grew up in Colorado and miss it terribly. We have three girls, ages 2, 4 and 6. Our Canadian friends will be traveling with 3 kids also (a bit older than ours, can't remember exactly) and my friend's parents. We are excited to meet up after not having seen each other for over a year. They are from Alberta.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hmmm, Oil Country. Love Alberta. Honeymooned out there 17.5 years ago. We were just talking this evening that it would be nice to take the kids to the Rockies, maybe next summer. We tend to travel to wherever I get Engineering contracts. Vacations become business deductions

Are you staying at any of the resorts prior to embarking?

While I am new to DCL, we have cruised 5 or more times. I do expect that first day to be pretty busy though.

I am happy to design the nametag (and can provide it electronically to everyone in advance - great idea - or print them if needed), order the lanyards, and bring it all to our first meeting. How important is it for me to be available at the terminal? We are planning to leave BLT by 10am and stop for a bottled water purchase, but I don't know how long it takes to get to the terminal.

I am curious how much these will end up costing? I guess if I do all the color printing, the total cost will be higher, but the lanyards themselves seem pretty cheap, right? Just trying to get a ballpark idea to figure out how many people will need to chip in.

I'd love to have the recommended lanyard supplier info - just PM me or post it here. And if Erik already has a template for the design that is the right size, etc., send that my way too. Can you send attachments in PM? If not, let me know and I can give you my e-mail address.

Is the beach really that busy when we're there?????

I don't know if this one is recommended, but I was looking at it online last night. It may be suitable.

We were onboard when Enchanted came out. They showed it the night it came out in the Walt Disney Theater and then again several times in the Buena Vista theater. I know that we got a plastic pin that had the movie name on it with "PremEARed at sea" or something like that written on it.
