Sailing to the Yacht Club & Beach Club? ... 2008 FAQ
Yacht Club, Beach Club & Beach Club Villas ***This thread is still a work in progress. Anyone wishing to maybe add a picture to the main posts of this thread, please PM Disneyolic for Yacht Club and bytheblood for the Beach Club. Of course, we will give you proper credit when posting your pictures. Please note that the Beach Club data is missing some photos now. I have made an attempt at contact with bytheblood and am waiting for a reply back. Hopefully, we can get the information back. Please be patient with us during this transition time from the old thread to this new one. We are starting out slow but with much research and other’s help, this thread will grow and be a wealth of information. Thank you to all contributing! Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Beach Club Villas ~ Post Your Photos! Now on with the show... The Yacht Club and Beach Club are sister resorts in the Epcot area of Disney property. Their prime central location on Disney property, plus being a walk away from Epcot and a ferry boat away from the Disney Studios make these deluxe resorts highly desirable. ![]() ![]() The Yacht Club and Beach Club share many facilities. Therefore, we will dedicate the first couple of posts for those items shared. In separate posts will be specifics individual to the Yacht Club and the Beach Club. Swimming Stormalong Bay is a 3-acre “water park” is the envy to all other resorts. In fact, cast members will ask for your resort ID for all members in your party before allowing you entrance. A wristband will be required to stay in Stormalong Bay. There are many different sections of Stormalong Bay. ![]() There is a sand-bottomed section perfect for young swimmers or for older people wanting to just sit in the water with sand comforting you. ![]() ...photo courtesy of jmsadams The pool has 2 slides. One slide is for the younger folks and is located in a front of a “ship”... ![]() ...photo courtesy of jmsadams The big slide starts at the top of the ship’s mast and takes you through some twists and turns and a tunnel. You must be able to swim without the use of floatation devices and parents/guardians are not allowed to wait at the bottom of the slide. ![]() ...photo courtesy of jmsadams For those looking to relax, there are 2 hot tubs. [insert pic here] There is also a whirlpool area and a small lazy river. Floats for the lazy river can be rented at the shop adjacent to the pool. [insert pic here] For those with wee one who want a kiddie pool, there is one on the Yacht Club side of Stormalong Bay. The kiddie play area is also located here... ![]() ...photo courtesy of jmsadams Here is a link to a wonderful slideshow by Tagrel ... Stormalong Bay Arcade Lafferty Place Arcade is the place to go for video games. ![]() ...photo courtesy of wdwinfo.com Athletes The Ship Shape Health Club is available for both Yacht & Beach Club patrons. [insert pic here] For those interested in getting a daily run in, a jogging map is provided at check-in. [insert pic here] Tennis courts are available at the Yacht Club and a sand volleyball court is available at the Beach Club. [insert pic here] Hair Salon Periwig’s Beauty and Barber Shop is a full-service styling salon with the latest techniques in hair care and services such as facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures. For services touch 7-3260. [insert pic here] Marina Bayside Marina has a world of watercraft available to tour the waters of Crescent Lake and the adjoining waterways, such as a SunTracker family pontoon boat and Mercury Water Mouse(TM) mini power boat. ![]() ...photo courtesy of DawnMaree (11/03) The Illuminations Cruise also departs from this marina, if prearranged (reservations are an absolutely must). Shopping Shopping is available at either Fittings and Fairings (Yacht) or The Beach Club Marketplace (Beach). More specifics can be found at either the Yacht Club or the Beach Club individual posts. Transportation Friendship boats going to Epcot and Disney Studios depart at the Lighthouse near the marina. These boats also make stops at the BoardWalk and Swan & Dolphin resorts. Strollers are allowed to be wheeled onto the ferry but must be in a secure area in the front. ![]() ...photo courtesy of DawnMaree (11/03) Buses travel to the Magic Kingdom, DownTown Disney, and the Animal Kingdom. The Beach Club and Beach Club Villas share a bus stop while the Yacht Club has it’s own bus stop. Please see specific posts for Beach Club and Yacht Club for more specific information. Walking is another option for guests going to either Epcot or Disney Studios. The walk to Epcot can take about 5 to 15 minutes depending on your pace and location of room. You may find that walking to Epcot may be faster than taking the Friendship boat. The walk to Disney Studios can take about 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the same. Convention The Yacht & Beach Club Resorts Convention Center is located adjacent to the entrance of the Yacht Club. Contact the Convention Sales Office and a representative will assist you in planning your event. Touch 407-828-3200 for information. ![]() Last edited by Disneyolic; 02-26-2008 at 02:38 PM. Questions posed by fellow DISers....
Can I rent tubes at Stormalong Bay and how much do they cost? Yes, tubes are available at a small counter near the lazy river, just adjacent to Hurricane Hannah's. Tubes are $3 an hour, $10 for the day. They also sell noodles for $4. How far of a walk is it from the Yacht & Beach Club to Epcot's International Gateway? The walk to Epcot's International Gateway can take anywhere from 5 to 12 minutes depending on your pace and room location. Last edited by Disneyolic; 09-25-2007 at 03:46 PM. |

Hi All - I am sorry, but I do not have the time to keep up with this thread and update it. While I wish that I could, it is simply not possible.
I understand that Disneyolic is no longer posting at the Dis. Perhaps somebody could start a new thread for the YC & BC FAQ. Last edited by bytheblood; 06-16-2008 at 11:19 AM. |
