Roll your Clothes for packing

Has anyone done this? Do they wrinkle? Do you put them in ziplock bags? Thanks!

I do a hybrid method of bundling + rolling and it works for me. I roll all my underwear, socks, etc and they go into a large ziplock bag (keeps everything together and if my suitcase is ever opened by TSA it keeps their filthy paws off my silky drawers). I also roll all of my Tshirts and tank tops and put them into a large ziplock. I can usually fit a weeks worth into one bag. Again, it keeps them all together and I think it helps to prevent wrinkling because they don't move around inside the suitcase. The key, I think, is to fold and then roll them carefully to minimize wrinkling as they are rolled. Any fold marks just fall out after you've had them on a short time. I've rolled dresses, shirts, slacks and capris in the past with mixed results - I've had better luck with bundling anything like that.

I started rolling all my clothes for packing after my daughter went to Germany for a senior German class trip! It worked great for her and she could fit much more into her bag. I find that my clothes come out unwrinkled, just like I packed them It's a win/win for me. The clothes fit snuggly, you can pack more, and they are not wrinkled when you arrive. I don't put mine into ziplocks. Don't understand why.? I can fit them around other items easily without adding a slippery ziplock. Just preference I guess You can't go wrong either way by rolling!

I layer my swimsuit, undergarments and my pajamas in a zip lock Baggie, and I half zip it, and then start from the bottom and roll it up, expelling all the air, and then unroll it, so it's flat and very thin. Then I sort of use that as my middle for my bundle style of packing. Or, for cold weather packing, I have used jeans as the middle of my bundle. I roll them starting at the waist and head to the bottom. I find layering the clothing and wrapping it in a bundle maximizes space and ends up with less wrinkles.

As for the zip locks, I put in my undergarments because I am one of those people that invariably gets pulled out and has her bag searched and I cannot stand people rifling through my stuff, and touching my clothes. Grrrr. It also saves space. On the return trip home, I put all my dirty clothes into the zip lock baggies and squeeze all the air out. This way, I have room for any souvenirs.

I am a pretty light packer and I only take a carry on for an 8 night trip.
Cannot wait to get to WDW
Looking forward to some Disney Magic

My friend has a very large family, and to help her stay organized and make sure everything get in the suitcases. She has each kid lay out a complete outfit for each day, So... shorts, top, underwear, bra, socks, hair things or jewelry for her girls, then she rolls and baggies them. Then bathing suits get a cover up, and flip flop rolled together, night clothes and extra underwear and socks rolled together and them put into baggies.
She does it this way to limit wrinkles and make sure everyone has everything before they leave the house.

I roll everything. You do have to very carefully fold before rolling and then roll it up tight. This allows you to use every inch of your suitcase. I'm a wrinkle freak (I iron everything, will not go out wrinkled) and I rarely need to even touch up iron when I unpack.
