Info thread Family Suites at All Star Music

Here is some info on the Family Suites:

*** They are 520 square feet.

*** The Family suites are located in the Jazz and Calypso buildings at All Star Music.(these are the closet buildings to the food court and the bus stop.

*** They cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL.

***1-6 adults may stay in a suite for the same set price.
(There is an additional fee of $10 per night for a 3rd or 4th additional adult in a standard value room.)

*** They have a QUEEN size bed (the other values and even the mods do not have a queen bed.

***The fridge is included (if you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would need to pay $10 extra for a night for a fridge if you wanted one.

*** They come with a microwave and coffeepot (If you booked 2 connecting value rooms you would not even be be able to rent a microwave and coffeepot.

***They have 2 TV's (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 TV)

***They have 2 bathrooms (if you book POR or a Deluxe room which sleeps 5 you will have 1 Bathroom.)

For more info and photos please see the FAQ thread and feel free to PM me with any questions.

Here is the FAQ thread:*Note you can also find it on the resort sticky

----------------------------------------------

Here is some info about the Family Suites:

The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz Inn Buildings.
Calypso Building 1 has 32 suites
Calypso Building 10 has 54 suites
Jazz Inn Building 2 has 52 suites
Jazz Inn Building 9 has 54 suites

The suites are located on all three floors, and are near each other, but none offer connecting suites. There is no price difference between the buildings.

Check here for the 2007 rates:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disne...2007.htm#VALUE

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

------------------------

The new family suites offer an affordable and convenient option for larger families with the amenities of a studio apartment.

Families can be together in the suite while enjoying separate sleeping areas with added privacy. Having two bathrooms will not only save time, but makes getting ready easier for the whole family. Plus, extra amenities like a microwave enable guests to prepare warm snacks and meals. With the extra room, guests can relax and recount the memories of the day before falling off to a goodnight’s sleep.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms
Here is the layout:

Hiya LInda,

First off thanks for all the info on the suites!!
The family and I are staying at the ASMu suites in May...
Anyways 2 quick questions, Is the coffeepot a 4 cup coffeepot?
And second, my daughter and my son-n-law at staying in a preferred room, the room you talked about next to the suite, WAS that a preferred room??
Thanks...

great info on those family suites, they really are very cool.

To the OP, unless you're youngest is under 3 then the only alternative you have beside deluxes are the FS's, POR & FWCabins. You're going in June, so I am sure there will be some codes coming out and you'll be able to snag a good rate at any of those (with the exception of the FS' I don't believe they've discounted them ever).

Hi,
Sorry I missed your postand I am replying kind of late.

Preferred room at a values is really a preferred location.
The preferred rooms are all located in the Calypso buildings which are the billdings that are nearest to the main pool, food court, and bus stop.

The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and the Jazz buildings.
The Jazz buildings are right next to the Calypso and are also very near the main pool, food court and bus stop.

Tell CRO or your travel agent that you want your ressies be linked since you are going together and that you want your rooms as close as possible.

You should both be assigned to a Calypso building.

Have fun at Disney!

The Family Suites are now offering discounts.
AAA has a few discounted Suites for some dates.
Also the last few discount codes that have been offered by Disney have included the Family Suites. So keep your eyes open and you may be able to snag a good deal.

Have fun at Disney!

My Canadian CAA value advised there are no discounts for when i requested the Suite so we switched to 2 rooms. Is this new applying AAA discounts? We booked back in August?

Has anyone stayed in the family suites with young children. I'm concerned mine would get out of the room since thats were the only door is.
Also how is transportion. We would like to go to the hoop de ho revue and some other things in the evening.

I was able to get a caa room only discount on the suite, but I didn't try to get a caa package discount. I might look in to that. Right now the canadian Disney TA is getting me a price on the new code to see which would be the better deal.

Apparently the new canada discount does not apply to the family suites. The code for free water parks and more that is.

Trying to decide between the Family Suites and POR. We are 3 adults, 2 children. We have a pin code so we get a great discount on either one but thinking the ASMusic would be better due to a larger room and more privacy.

Thank you~

I am so glad you had this information, especially the activities for kids.

We are staying for a week in October, and there will be 11 of us with two suites. I do wish they had connecting suites, but at least now I know that isn't even available and I can plan accordingly.

Our usual hotel is off property and they have a Dive In Theatre, knowing about the movies by the pool is going to be a big plus with the kids.

We are so excited, now if I can just manuever the Amazing Race version of getting a custom made cake to the Sci Fi Diner.

Thank you
