So fanny packs are allowed on Forbidden Journey? I thought they were not allowed on any ride.

Yes, they are allowed. That said, I once observed a TM asking a guest with one if the clip had two prongs or three. That was not long after it opened, and probably an overzealous TM.

September
Hey folks! Back for some more help
I am going to be going to DW september sunday the 2nd - saturday the 8th and was just wondering what the crowds are going to be like then? The 3rd is labor day. I know most kids will probably be starting school, or if not already back. Are the Universal and Disney crowds pretty similar? And we plan on doing a one day trip, and particular day during this week that would be best for us to go? I was hoping for tuesday or wednesday as a mid-week getaway from our resort.

My fiance wasn't too happy when I had to tell him the Jaws ride was shut down. That is in the top 2 of his favorite movies, "Three Amigos" being the other. ![]() We plan on doing just a one day trip. Hit the best things from both parks. Then doing a dinner at Margaritaville so my fiance can get some land shark! With parking, I know Citywalk closes at 2am. How late can you leave the parking lots? There won't be any trouble leave around then will there?

I was there over Labor Day weekend this past year, staying onsite, and we found the crowds to be very manageable even if we didn't have Express privileges. The weeks just before--but especially after--Labor Day is historically a lightly-attended time of year.

I'm not sure what time they technically close but I know you can't park overnight. With all the people who routinely leave CityWalk around 2am or later, you should not have any issues with your car.

Excellent! Good to know. Fiance would love to be able to spend some time doing Harry Potter, but we are also doing both parks in the same day. Good knowing we should be okay getting a lot done!

Is there a guide book (Universal Studios for Dummies) that I could purchase with more details about the parks?

Here's another vote for that book. It's great! Plenty of details about everything "Universal". The copy I'm reading actually came from a library.

OK - I'm new here - apologies if this is all garbled. We have sorted out the Disney part of our holiday and now I'm worrying about Universal.
We will be there Thurs 16th (arriving from OKW for a leisurely check-in day) then I think we will do Harry Potter early doors on the Friday (we are staying in HRH for the FOTL passes and early entry) and then Studios on the Saturday - this is a Mardi Gras weekend with either Kelly Clarkson or Boyz II Men so it is going to be rammed. The questions are mainly - what time does the parade start and finish? Will it be too busy and chaotic with an 8 and 3 year old? After it is over we have to pick up our luggage from HRH and get a cab back to check in at POR - hoping there is some alligator bayou rooms left that late in the day. I also have questions about how the child swap works but there must be a sticky for this somewhere that I havent found -we will obviously be using it a lot with such a big age gap. Though at least we wont have to use the lockers if one of us is always hanging out in the child swap area.

The park will be jammed with people for the parade and concert so make sure your kids are with you at all times...don't let them wander. If you don't want to stay for the concert, you should make your way to the park exit as soon as you can after the parade ends. It will still be jammed though. I can't help you with child swap since I don't use it.
