Alex: Alex couldn't refrain herself from standing up and walking into the kitchen, she was worried and just needed to be assured everything was alright. Seeing Toby Alex came to a sudden halt seeing everything wasn't alright. Cautiously, she walked behind Toby and gently tapped his shoulder. "Toby? Are you okay?" She asked quietly.

Toby: Toby jolted at Alex's touch, he was both glad that she had come into the kitchen because he knew that he wasn't okay, but he was also extremely embarrassed and almost ashamed to have anyone, even his best friend see him like this. He shook his head side to side slowly and took a slow but shallow breath "no" he managed to say before returning back into short unsteady breaths, he focused all of his attention on breathing normally and managed to slow it down some. He still felt to unsteady to move his hands from the counter.

Alex: Alex's lip trembled seeing her best friend so hurt and she took a step to the side to stand next to him. "Once you catch your breath a little more, why don't you tell me why you're not okay?" She asked in a calming voice.

Toby Toby nodded, he closed his eyes and let himself catch his breath. With Alex next to him the questions stopped, and he no longer felt like he was being suffocated by them. "okay" he said much more relaxed. He opened his eyes and relaxed his arms no longer pushing down, but he still didn't move them from where they were. "It's just, what Max said earlier" he said focusing on a spot on the wall in front of him not sure if he could look at Alex and say this.
"It's just, I think she's right. I do take things for granted, I don't realize what I have here. I'm always focusing on the negatives, and I'm too worried about being safe to take risks and do crazy things. She's right, I have missed out on experiences because of this. I know she probably wasn't saying all of this directed at me, but I really feel like she was. And now, now I'm wondering if I should even be at this school. There's probably someone much more deserving, someone who would appreciate it more than me who should be here instead" he said still focusing on the spot on the wall in front of him waiting for a response from Alex, and breathing more heavily again.
