Closing and beyond question
We just overnighted our payment and closing paperwork today and hoping the seller will get theirs in quickly also. We are leaving tomorrow for WDW and will be their until the 13th. Does it seem likely we could close and things move quickly enough that we could get a member card at the DVC center while we are there or am I being way too optimistic?

You're looking another couple of weeks for you to close, have Disney notified of the sale and then get your contract and points loaded into the system. I highly doubt that will all happen in the next 10 days.

We had 5 contracts close in August. From close to point load took a average of 13 days.
Resales are usually worked by Disney on Tuesdays. Bill

Okay, thanks. I'll just have to be patient. At least I can come home from vacation and shortly after I'll be able to plan our next one!

It's possible, but highly dependent on how fast the sellers get their paperwork in and how fast the title company does the close and forwards it to Disney. For my last contract, closing happened the Monday that the seller's paperwork arrived, the deed first showed up on the county clerk's website the next day, and Disney had loaded the points by the following Monday morning.
That said, I wouldn't count on it. In my limited experience, sellers are not nearly as eager to send in their paperwork as buyers. |

We just got back from our wonderful 9 day vacation. Our seller still hasn't returned their paperwork yet!
. So frustrating. On the bright side, we visited all the DVC resorts at WDW and are very happy with our choice, and found a couple of others we'd like to add on at!

We are supposed to close on 10-21 (Sunday) and the seller still hasn't sent in their paperwork. I am going to follow up tomorrow to see if someone can give them a call to find out what's up. Does anyone know what happens if they go past the closing date? I've reviewed the contract and it doesn't mention that.

you probably already know, but just to clarify for those reading who don't understand this:
you cannot combine pts from different resorts at the 11 month window - only if you wait until the 7 month window.
