SSR Building Configuration
The SSR building configuration is fairly straightforward and appears to be the same for each building. Since only one building is now open, this will need to be confirmed as additional buildings become available for use.
The only difference from building-to-building will be the numbering system used – as pairs of buildings share the same prefix number and the second digit represents a specific floor- but they are not numbered intuitively. The first digit will identify a pair of buildings and this digits will range from 1 to 6. All first floor rooms will be numbered with either x1xx or x5xx depending on the building. All second floor villas will be numbered x2xx or x6xx, third floor villas will be x3xx or x7xx and all fourth floor villas will be x4xx or x8xx. The specific building can be identified by these first two digits (the first two buildings to open will begin with 21xx and 25xx for the first floor villas. The third digits will represent the section of the building. If you think of each building as a U with a flange on top of each side, the third digit represents one of those five sections. They are numbered from the left as you enter the building from the parking area. The upper left flange will be numbered using “0” ( xx0x ) and will have a water view, the left side will have both Garden View and Water View villas- as this short hallway has rooms accessed from both sides. Numbering uses “1” ( xx1x ) – the left side villas are Garden View and the right side Water View. The bottom section of the U uses “2” ( xx2x ) and is all Water View villas. The right side uses “3” ( xx3x ) and will have both Water View and Garden View villas. The upper right flange uses “4” ( xx4x ) and is all Water Views. The fourth digit will indicate the villa itself. All Water View rooms end in an odd number ( xxx1,3,5,7 ) , all Garden View rooms end in an even number (xxx2,4,6). None end in 8 or 9. Each floor has one dedicated 2BR and 3 lock-off 2BR with the Garden View. I think that all Garden Views will be able to see some water. Some will face DD/Cirque, some will have a fireworks view. These are all located on the ends of each building. There are three general areas of the resort buildings. CONGRESS PARK comprises the first four buildings to open and villas #1101-1436, 1501-1836, 2101-2436 and 2501-2836 will be found in this area. THE SPRINGS will be made up of the three buildings across from the High Rock Springs Pool and will include villas #3101-3436, 3501-3836 and 4101-4436. THE PADDOCK will include the remaining five buildings and will include villas #4501-4836, 5101-5436, 5501-5836, 6101-6436 and 6501-6536. Here is the configuration for the first building open. (2501-2847). S=Studio 1=1BR 2=2BR GV=Grand Villa G=Garden View W=Water View Smoking "optional" villas are in bold. Doc - thanks for the information. And extra thanks for taking the time to provide the level of detail that you do - it's a great "fix" for us information junkies!
I guess all that's missing for each villa is whether the TP is "over" or "under". Thanks again!

Wow. That is incredibly detailed. Thanks very much. I will keep note of this so I know what I am getting at check in and hopefully it may even avoid a room change.

Doc, am I correct in assuming that the 2 bedrooms are the dedicated ones?

The villas designated as a "2" are all dedicated 2BR's. The others are all lock-off villas. the lock-off studios all have a queen bed and sleep sofa and all dedicated 2BR's have 2 queens in the 2nd BR.
Some of the lockoffs have a closet in the entryway of the 1BR villa and some have the connecting door located there. I have no way to know which (ours has the hall closet with connecting door in the living room- the model has the connecting door in the entryway). Parking for each building is right in front. The parking areas are much larger than those at OKW- since each building has a maximum of 70 separate villas ( 2 GV's, 20 dedicated 2BR's and 24 lock-off Studios/24 lock-off 1BR's). It's a short walk to the bus stop (and this building is further away than the next two to open) and a quick walk to the Carriage House/Artist's Palette/High Rock Pool area. Some of the later buildings will have a bit further to walk- but there will be a bridge across the internal lake to shorten that walk. The only lengthy walk, IMO, is to the boat dock for the OKW/SSR/DD boat. Once the first 4 buildings are open, there is a nice paved walkway over to DD (Marketplace side). It is not yet accessible due to construction at bldgs 3 & 4. There will also be a 2 mile paved walking/jogging/biking trail around the perimeter when all buildings are open.

Doc, I have to ask. Do people give you funny looks as you wander around checking out the buildings and writing all this information down?!
Don't stop - we love you for it.:D

You are the man! Short of being there right now, I can almost envision what you’re seeing.
Doc, FWIW, aren’t you on vacation? I applaud your dedication to this board and to us, but take some time off and have a beverage on me or have many on all of us.

Doc,
Thanks for all of the great info so far. It is so cool to hear what the system is for SSR. I am rather curious, I had previously assumed that the SSR models that were open at BW sales center were the same size as the actual SSR rooms. The furniture for SSR rooms seemed a bit large, and the BWV rooms are not nearly as spacious as OKW (difference in living in the "city" as opposed to the "country"), and I was rather disappointed in their square footage, and lack thereof. Was my assumption wrong? Are the units in SSR bigger then those in the BWV sales center that they were showing? How big are they comparatively to OKW and BWV or VWL? Do you happen to have any info on the actual Square footage? I hope that they are big (I like my space)! Thanks again for all of the "live" posts! L- |

The SSR rooms seem to be the same size as the BWV/VWL/BCV rooms. We're in a 1BR now and it seems to be just like the others.
It seems that many get a different feel after seeing the rooms. I overheard a visitor at the SSR models yesterday (the new models are in this building) comment that they felt smaller than BCV, but I feel they are identical. While I have not seen any dimensions ( and forgot to bring a tape measure), my impression is that the SSR villas have the same dimensions as the other onsite resort since OKW. I like the dining table at SSR and BCV. I like the desk in the masterbedroom at SSR and BCV. I like the color scheme at SSR very much. The parking and access to the rooms is also great at SSR. It is a bit of a hike to the boat dock, but the pool, bus stop, food court are a short walk from the room.

Doc, are you on the 3rd or 4th floor?
Are the rooms quiet from below, neighbors etc? After the other 3 buildings are open, would you prefer one of them over where you are? How is the water pressure and air conditioning? Is the sensors for the air the same as Beach Club? Which of the 4 buildings is the closest to the bus stop? Thanks for taking time from your own vacation to help all of us out with questions. It's greatly appreciated. |

WOW, WHAT A FAST REPLY!
Doc,
Thanks for answering so quickly. I'm so happy to get an answer about the size. Quite honestly, I'm surprised to hear that they're not a little bigger then the "city" ones. I honestly didn't expect them to be as big as OKW, but since they are closer to the "country" thought they'd be somewhere in between. Glad to hear that the decorating (colors, etc.) are nice. When you get a chance, can you tell me about the dining area in the 1 and/or 2 bedroom units, ie:number of people who can be seated together at the actual table comfortably (I haven't stayed at BCV yet)? Thanks, you're the best! L-
