Perhaps it wasn't just supplies but also more workers? It sounds like the ones they have on board are being kept pretty busy so maybe they needed more specialists to deal with repairs.

No, no one boarded the ship.

We were on the 11/1 sailing. We were in room 6089, our son right across in 6088. No problems with plumbing or anything else. We saw DISers around and no reports of any problems from any of them (nor on our meet thread after returning home). We had brunch in Palo and our son had dinner there as well. No ac problems on either occasion. There was some problems with washers and dryers, but all else seemed to be in working order. Love the new look and I really love the new carpet in the cabins. Cushy to walk on. We were in AP for Pirate night and that is a real treat!! Happy cruisers yet again.

Supposedly it was a cooling chemical for the AC and refrigerators. I'm guessing they went back because it was a refrigerator problem. If the fridges weren't working for say a day, they probably got worried. Loosing that much food would be a bigger economic loss than sailing back to Miami.

It seems to be pretty well confirmed now that the critical stores was a coolant gas, likely Freon.

The must have been a leak, somewhere in the system and they drained off the spare gas, requiring more. This can happen.

They need to get the system up within a period of time before they would be required by health rules not to use the food stuffs.

Soo...........it must have required the vessel to return to the closest port, in this case Miami, to get the whole system up, that would include the refers, freezers and as reported, the AC.

The bill for the return, I would think $25,000 is about right.

I was at both the Goofy Pool and the adult pool the while time we were in Miami, they didn't drain them. It got windy and rougher while the captain turned the ship, but then improved.

Thank you for sharing your account. Others were not as fortunate. The a/c issues occurred on the 11/6 sailing which you were not on.

Overall it was an amazing two cruises, and I can't wait to go back.

No, but I had a feeling maybe they would go up this week. They did have merch in the ships on the 11/6 cruise. A friend was on last weeks fantasy cruise and they did have beautiful decorations in the atrium already.

Well you have to add the 2 hours each way at sea, 1 hour each way in and out of the port, and 1 hour alongside the dock, a lot of fuel at $800.00 per ton. Add in pilots in and out of the harbor. docking fee I am sure the port charged, stevedores tie up the vessel and let go and to load the supply's. Not to forget, I am sure government officials and customs to board the vessel to confirm what they were doing.

It adds up!
