Smile FIRST TIME! Any tips?!

Hi all!

My best friend and I are going to Disney early next year! We are both going to be freshman in college. This will be my first time, but my friend has gone before.

We will go to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and eating at Rainforest Cafe.

Any tips for a first timer?!

Definitely make sure you see wishes at magic kingdom.
Our favorite places to eat are Ohana at the Polynesian resort and teppan edo in Japan at epcot.
I feel like I have a million other tips but I can't think of anything right now. I'll come back I promise!!

- When you watch Wishes, watch it from the middle of Main Street.
- Learn how to use the FastPass system to make the most of your time.
- Get to the parks as early as you can, so you can make the most of your time.
- When you get to EPCOT, head past Spaceship Earth and go right to Soarin' to get a FastPass. Then get one for Test Track as soon as you are allowed. Then ride Spaceship Earth later.
- Don't skip anything just because you think you are too old for it. Lots of adults enjoy even the most childlike attractions every day.

Have a GREAT time!!!!!!!

I'm sure you'll be getting LOTS of other suggestions from this board.

Definitely agree with all of these. Especially the kid rides. Peter Pan is AMAZING!!! Most of the time a fast pass is the way to go.

If you're eating at the rainforest cafe in DTD then make sure you stop into world of disney. It's the biggest gift shop EVER!! Also set a budget for souvenirs. There's sooooo many things you'll "have to have" but it's really easy to get carried away in the magic lol

Get fast passes for any of the kids attractions you think you'll want to ride, haunted mansion, space mountain, and since I think the new Snow White ride will be open then fast passes for that as well! And the meet and greet hall to meet princesses. Yes they have meet and greet fast passes!

You are going to have so much fun!!!!!

Just a question: why eat at Rainforest Cafe? Why not someplace in/ near the two parks you'll be visiting? Rainforest Cafe is a chain that you can find in other places in the US... why not eat someplace more unique to Disney?

Go to www.allears.net and take a look at the menus.
In particular, look at:
Epcot: The Coral Reef and each of the restaurants in the World Showcase
Magic Kingdom: Crystal Palace,

Resorts (each of these is easy to get to from either the Magic Kingdom or Epcot
- dinner at 1900 Park Fare for a Princess character experience
- Chef Mickeys for a character experience with Mickey and friends
- Clam Bake at Cape May if you're into seafood

Oh, and the very first ride I fastpass in the Magic Kingdom is always Peter Pan In Epcot, it's Soarin'

I'm going to be the "anti dis" and suggest you simply relax.

Get a guide book and circle on or two things you really want to do.

Don't try to rush around at top speed to "get every thing done" you absolutely cannot and will only burn yourself out.

You want to actually remember the "quality" of the trip, not that you rushed from attraction to attraction.

If you have a smart phone download My DisneyExperience. It lets you know the wait times for rides that might be across the park. When getting to the park you can decide should you head to Space Mountain or Splash Mountain depending on the wait times.

On your two full days arrive at the park before the scheduled open time. And don't show up and then decide what you want to do. Show up with a good touring plan (touringplans.com and easywdw.com are good sources) before you arrive. WDW isn't the kind of place you can wing it if you want to ride your favorite attractions.

Hi and welcome. We are just back from a 4 night whirlwind trip and suggest you:
-be flexible in plans as we encountered a few rides which went out of service
-maximize fastpasses wherever possible
-arrive early (before opening)
-ride everything you want...we did (and this was for my 50th bday)
-download apps to know times in line (we used my disney experience and disney wait times). Use these before you go so you know which rides have long lines typically and then use that in your fastpass strategy
-eat somewhere you wouldn't when you are home
-ride less popular rides at the peak of the day
-don't avoid the shows - some are very good!
-see at least one parade and fireworks at least once

And mostly, relax, have fun and enjoy!!

My advice would be to get Park Hopper tickets.

Be there when Epcot rope drops...

Next day get to HS early for rope drop and then hope to MK later in the day.
