Another thought, I have been looking up alot about DVC and I was wondering are there any incentives to buy direct even if your on the waiting list besides what was in the webisode. wondering about BCV

None that I know of - it's been a long time since there wre any incentives offered for BCV. It's popular and Disney does not need to offer any.

FWIW, I was surprised that they offered incentives for BWV. Rumor has it that they had quite a few points acquired via foreclosure and thought they needed to do some marketing to "get rid of them". Guess those points went very fast since there are now reported to be waitlists for BWV points.

I called my guide immediately after getting the letter about the new incentives for BWV (the letter came long before the Webcast), and there were already wait lists for every UY. I'm not suggesting anything completely nefarious, but the wait lists almost seem like a marketing tool at this point. It makes a buyer feel that there is a much more urgent decision to make because there are "so many people" waiting to get their hands on those points.

Rather than keeping points in inventory that they have to pay dues on, from a profit angle it makes sense to market, have customers on a wait list, then ROFR contracts that can be repackaged and sold.

Another reason to increase prices is to increase the threshold for ROFR. They probably have a minimum profit that they have to make before they ROFR.

Disney has a way of causing a frenzy "buy now or the price will go up" the older resorts have been there for a very long time and now there is a waiting list? They did this 2 years ago with the resale restrictions and many bought into it. I can see the people who want to add 25 - 50 points buying direct other then that resale is still the way to go. I give Disney credit for getting consumers into the buy now mood! This too shall pass.....

Yes you are right about that-we were wanting to go on the waitlist shortly before the price increase and they had no incentives for BWV. They had sold their "inventory".

I went on the waiting list for BWV on the 19th, and i got credited for the 2 passes for watching the webinar.

When we did the tour in feb, the guide told us they had over 15,000 reacquired points for BWVs. I guess they managed to get all of them sold since there is a waitlist now. The points weren't for a use year we wanted, so we waited.

We went on the wait list for 25 BWV points with an Oct. use year on 3/19. When I asked my guide how long the wait was or how many were on the wait list ahead of us he was very evasive. He did make an odd comment about hoping I get them in time to still get the 2012 points. I hope the wait isn't going to be that long.

We went on the WL for BWV on 3/12. The guide was also very evasive with us. I asked if he thought it would be 2 months or 6 months and he just said not that long. He did say there were 3 pages...whatever that means. We did get the $2000 credit and 4 5 day hoppers for watching the webinar.
