Question about the Free Disney Vacation Planning DVD

I have a copy of the 2009 Free Disney Vacation Planning DVD and of course it talks about the promotion they had that year and some of the things that were new for 2009. But I'm curious how different I could expect the video to be compared to the current 2013 DVD. I know it's free so it costs nothing but was just curious how much it changes year to year.

The actors change the format changes, the information...not so much. There are too many changes going on at Disney that I think the videos aren't able to keep up with it, by the time they start distributing the dvd, the info is old. I ordered the 2013 video and it is somewhat entertaining but still prefer the web for my Disney info as it is so much more current...

I just got my free dvd yesterday and although it's my first, it seems like it's geared more for 1st timers. There's probably not much new on it other that new rides/shows that they may have added/changed since 2009.

It has changed a lot since 2009. We got our 2013 one recently and DD watches it frequently. It has the NFL info and is more interactive. It's free and increases your chance to get a PIN. As they say, "order yours today!".

Does anyone know if the 2013 trip planning video includes info and video on the newly opened areas of Fantasyland?

I just got the planning DVD and thought the 2009 one was better. Yes it does feature the new Fantasyland attractions. But if you're just wanting to watch Disney videos to help with your anticipation, there are more satisfying videos on YouTube; literally hundreds of them on pretty much every aspect of Disney you can think of. I'm finding them far more entertaining and enjoyable than the planning DVD. I think I'm driving my wife nuts with them! WDWINFO has a wonderful series called Disney Park Bench: simple 5 minute videos of various locations including resorts and theme parks (Thanks Corey!). I also like the Allears.net videos particularly their walk-arounds of resorts. Really gives you a feel for being there. It's a great way to channel all that anticipation.

The 2013 DVD video is the same as the last 2 years. It makes mention of Fantasyland but only that its in the beginning stages of being built. I received 1 a month ago that was the same one I received for 2012 in 2011 and then a couple weeks ago received another one, which was the same.

Positive side is that if I lose one at least I have another.
