I usually go in Sept/Oct, but this year want to try something different. Right now I'm leaning towards Nov 9-17, but am open to Nov 16-24. Which week is better in terms of crowd levels and potential discounts?

Add us to the Magic! I'm new to the boards and trying to get better-prepared than I was before our trip two years ago which we planned in 45 days. ;-) We are planning a trip for 11/15-24 (flexible) with a homeschool group that is getting wonderful rates on tickets but no room deals yet. So for the time being we are booked through USAA at the Embassy Suites off-property for an avg. of $86/night with free hot breakfast buffet. We are of course keeping our ears to the ground for a comparable on-property rate, but the bottom line for this trip is cost-effectiveness. We weren't planning a trip this year but Carolina Homeschooler's rates are so good and the dates cover BOTH my younger kids' birthdays, so we decided to make it happen if we possibly could! We are driving, too, so that we can bring in food and save even more money. I'm just so excited to be going at all since we thought we were going to have to wait until Fall '14!
Happy to be here, Jen |

Count us in! We'll be at the ASMu in a family suite for our first family trip 11/2-11/9. It's going to be myself, DH, DS (5.5 like some others I noticed!), my Mom and her Fiance. My Mom and I were last at Disney in '95, the hubs was last there in '98 and it will be DS and Papa's first trip!
Can't wait! Now back to read through the last 30ish pages!!

![]() My son will be 5.5 as well on this trip!!!! Isn't it so exciting?!? Although, I might be coming one of *those* people - a resort switcher!!! I'm booked at POR, but my friend has been able to get us an awesome rate at ASMu and AoA. I'm not for sure if we'll switch yet, but who knows? Maybe I can get into the Poly or Contemporary!!! Where's the "fingers crossed" smilie?

Hello! I am new to DIS and I just found this group. This will be my family's fourth trip to WDW this November. Our tentative days are Nov. 17-27 and I am very excited even though it's 251 days away.
I too am hoping for free dining and possibly room discounts like last year. |

It's funny, after reading you talking about the POR in the last 36 pages I started to get worried about my choice at the ASMu and started looking into POR last night. I think I'll stick with my first choice though. I'm trying to get my post count up so I can send a PM to get into the FB group and post my PTR (can't add pics til 10 posts!). Sometimes it sucks being a noob. =P

Hello, everyone!!!
![]() For those not in the FB group, my family changed our plans last night. We are no longer staying at POR.........WE ARE STAYING AT OKW!!!!! I am so excited (and so is my hubby for all the extra space). I've always wanted to stay there and last night we had the chance for either the Poly, the Contemporary or OKW. I know a lot of my DIS friends are staying at the Poly and I can't say I haven't always wanted to stay there, but I have to admit that OKW calls to us more. All the space in the 1 bedroom villa is going to be totally awesome. As will be the appliances!!! Oh - and the separate bedroom from the kids!!! (can you tell how excited I am?!? )So, now the plans change a little. And I'm trying to make myself ok with that (I have OCD and don't do well with plan alterations). So, obviously I will not be waiting with baited breath for free dining. And I worked the numbers, it would cost my family approximately $2,169 for the dining plan. We would not eat that much food....ever. Yes, it's nice to try new places to eat, but we've done that the last two trips and I think hubby & I both agree we don't want to be tied down with dining reservations (you know....we have to get to Japan by such and such time because we have a reservation and you're all the way by The Living Seas). There were a couple of restaurants we wanted to try this time around (like Coral Reef and T-Rex Cafe), but it won't be the end of the world. OKW looks wonderful and I can't wait to see it. Does anyone else have experience here? |
