![]() Not really..... I started the year off with my third Disney Dopey Weekend. Three weeks from this Sunday I have a 70.3 triathlon. A Sprint triathlon in July and September then my BIG challenge, the Ironman Florida Triathlon in November followed by the Space Coast Half Marathon with my 11yo DGS a few weeks later. Going to be a fun year celebrating my 63rd birthday. Everybody--stay safe, train wisely but above all, have FUN! |

Hello, Princess Walkers!
I finished my first Princess Half Marathon!!! To be honest, I was more than a little worried when I found out that I was in the last corral. The Sunday before the PHM, I walked in a 10K as a way to get into an earlier corral. My 10K time wasn't great so I was tempted to not even ask Race Relations about it. Thankfully, my friend encouraged me to ask and, miraculously, I was bumped up into an earlier corral - E! So, I was able to walk the entire way, stopping only to snap pictures of all the fun along the route. The course was crowded but, because of the high humidity and the fact that there were lots of racers behind me, I didn't really push to go too fast. I finished just shy of 4 hours....a full half hour slower than I had finished other half marathons. I had a blast, though, and can't wait to go back. Thank you, Dreamer and John and Brooke and all of the other walkers for your encouragement this past year. So glad you had a good time with your daughter, D.P.S. - Dreamer, this Southern girl didn't like the humidity either and was so happy that the sun didn't come out. My friend looked up the weather later and found out that the humidity had been 93%. We were swimming!

![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations to all of you that participated in last weekend's Princess 1/2!! It sounds like it was a really fun time but really steamy!!!! I've been loving the pictures I've seen in various locations around the web and hearing the stories has helped inspire me to get back on track. I kind of fell off the wagon after the marathon in January...the cold weather here and my lack of enthusiasm for the treadmill combined with LOTS of job stress had sent me into hibernation mode!!! But spring is coming and there are couple half marathons coming up in my area in a few short months so I need to get back into the swing of things. So thank you to all of you that posted, I love reading about everyone's adventures. I wish I could have joined you but sadly the budget didn't allow for both marathon weekend and the princess...maybe next year. We are looking at the budget to see if we can do wine and dine this year, we've never done a nighttime race before and I think that one would be fun and might help bridge that fall training gap after the races dry up and the weather gets yucky...I really struggled in November and December this year... Great job everyone!! Brooke |
