So we are bringing a teen girl with us to watch our boys the night of the race, but we are thinking about getting them tickets to the after party.... they won't have a problem staying up....

However, I just wanted to know what they will be able to do during the actual race?? Are the rides open then or will they need to wait until after the race? Just curious as to how that all works. TIA!

The race starts at 10pm and the party starts at 11pm. There won't really be much for them to do before 11pm so I'd suggest they not accompany you to the start, but wait to catch a bus over just before 11pm. Once the party starts then the rides will be open. In addition to the rides, there'll be a dance party in Dinoland.

we missed signing up for the race! We've done every race weekend since Princess 2011..boo! Does anyone know of any groups that are still selling bibs?

Hi! I signed up for EEC a while ago and haven't been on DIS for a while but I think I wanna come back for W.I.S.H.

Never been on this section before and am looking to get healthy! I jogged/walked my first 5K in Oct 2012 at a local women's race and am excited to be doing EEC with my DH

Still haven't gone through all the posts (that'll take a while ) but I'll get through it!

I'm not sure if this has been asked but any characters during the actual race? I've seen pictures of Pluto and Goofy in Dinoland where they usually meet after the race but how about on the course?

I'm glad you remembered, I've done so many 5K's through the Animal Kingdom that I could have sworn there were...but maybe not.

I recall a few characters last year during the 5K portion of the event.

I believe just inside the entrance to the park, going up the left trail (from entering the park) just past the restrooms/locker area, I believe there were King Louie and Baloo (I don't recall 100%, but I know there were two of them at that spot, with Baloo being one of them). I believe they were available for pictures.

Also, when running up the Rafiki Planet Watch-area roads, Minnie and Mickey were up on that bus, but you could not stop and pose with them for a picture, obviously.

But, those are the only four characters I remember during the actual race/scavenger portion of the event.

Thanks! I was just wondering if there are any photo opps that you wouldn't be able to get on a regular AK day. I just did the Princess Half and the only photo opp I stopped was with all the Heroes, it took me 14 minutes but it was so worth it.
