Max: Max went into the kitchen, going through the same motions as Margo, only acknowledging anyone by nodding thanks toward River and Daniel. She got her food and sat down at an empty table.

Professor Collins: Professor Collins swept into the kitchen. "Good evening students. Mmm, that smells amazing you two, thanks," she said, smiling at Daniel and River. "If I may," she continued before filing up her plate, leaving the rest for the remaining students.

River: River smiled as each person came in to get food, once everyone seemed to have their plates filled and it was only Daniel and herself left in the kitchen she grabbed a plate and began to fill it. While he did she whispered "Daniel, do we want people to know that we're...you know...together?" she asked.

Daniel: As Daniel filled up his plate too, he whispered back, "I think we should just kind of, you know, act on what seems right in each instance, and let them figure it out for themselves. If they ask, we'll say yeah. No point in hiding it or deceiving anyone, but I also don't want to make an announcement if you know what I mean."

Daniel: Daniel finished filling his plate and entered the dining room. He looked around before sitting down at a random table, not bothering to check if people were sitting at that table.

Max: Max sat alone, eating small bites of her food, but not really doing much. It wasn't that it was bad, it was actually really good. But Max didn't really feel like eating dinner. She was busy trying to figure out how to avoid everyone tonight and who would be likely to follow her if they saw her sneaking from the third floor.

River: River followed Daniel over to the table. She looked around the room when her eyes landed on Professor Collins. She couldn't believe that this person, this person that she had just met may hold the secret of her parents. She began thinking, I wonder what they looked like? Could they have really been superheroes? Do I look like my mom? She wasn't sure when a good time to talk to the professor was, so she figured she would wait until the professor let her know when she was free. She looked up from her food at Daniel and asked "Is it good?" she couldn't remember the last time she had eaten with someone.

Well, Max seemed to be looking a little on the glum side, but it had almost seemed so natural to him he'd missed it at first glance. And yet he was wondering if she'd even shown her true side yet. He looked away, appearing thoughtful.

I guess I just find it odd that when I look at a lot of the people here, I feel like I've known them forever, or at least understand them, but Max........I have no idea when she's being real and when she's putting on one of her charades. I feel like her most real moment was when she was getting yelled at over the phone by her dad. You're her roomate, do you have a better idea of who she is than I do?"

River: River's mind wandered, she pictured her and Max hugging on the couch, she pictured the photograph of a happy child Max and her parents, she remembered Max telling her about her mother and how her father was her only parent now. "Not really, I think Max just lives a very hard life." she said, she wasn't lying, but she also wasn't telling him all of the details she knew. No matter how much she liked Daniel and how much she trusted him she knew that It wasn't her place to go behind Max's back to tell others the details of her personal life. That was for Max to do, and River knew that when Max told her about herself she was only telling her, and not the whole school.

River: River could tell how much this bothered Daniel. She reached her hands across the table and grabbed Daniel's so that both of their hands were clasped together and lying on the table. She looked straight at him and said "hey, don't let them get to you. Your life is your life. It doesn't matter what they think you should be, it matters what you want to do. And if it's any consolation, I know that no matter what you pick you will be great at." she said with a reassuring smile.
