2013 ToT or 2014 Donald?
Which should I run next, and why?
![]() My brother, who took absolutely no convincing at all (seriously, one text message, and perhaps watching me run this year's marathon :P), told me he is in for either Terror of Terror in October or the Donald in January. But I don't know which one to choose. ![]() I am leaning towards the Donald for two reasons: 1. to give him more time to train (he was up to running 5 miles in November, but then got married and fell off the wagon); and 2. so we can stay on the monorail (increase ease of parents to see us) and avoid all buses (I had bus trouble the morning of the full - they didn't pick us up until after 4 and I had been there since 3:20 - and my family had problems with the spectator buses - none came for them during the specified times). However, January equaled sickness for me and I got a cold and the flu three days before the marathon. Perhaps January travel isn't the best idea. For reference, the only Disney race I have done is this year's marathon. And I loved it! I can't wait for the next one!

Depends on your preferences, but as far as training, he would have plenty of time for either race!
Each race would have its pro's and con's- I have never run the Donald half, but I have run the TOT, and I can tell you that it is a fun race! But there are a lot of factors- one is in the morning, the other at night. October can be hot, January can be hot or cold. Also, which bling would you prefer I'm always motivated by the bling! LOL!!It really just comes up to each of your preferences, I would make a list of the pro's and con's of each race, then decide from there |

I'm trying to decide between the ToT and W&D this year. Leaning towards ToT because it's not a Coast to Coast race, which I am NOT going for this year. But I like the W&D course better. RunDisney sure forces us to make the TOUGH decisions!

I would do Wine and Dine, but do they offer room discounts that week because of the festival? I really need a room discount! My brother's wedding anniversary is that weekend too, that might matter to him. :P

I'm considering either doing the ToT in October and the full marathon in January or just doing the Goofy in January.I'm all in for the marathon which I completed this year much better than I expected, however I'm worried it won't go as well if you throw in getting up at 2am two days in a row and just how I will feel after doing the half.Right now I'm leaning ToT and full marathon and leaving Goofy for 2015 which would be the 10th anniversary.
